Marketing is absolutely essential. It's everything that a potential client sees before they decide to do business with your company. In many cases there is already an online conversation going on about your business. It's up to you as the business owner (and highly advisable) whether you want to join it.
A strong web site, with a vigilant social media campaign can pair greatly with your offline materials to attract new business.
