What was the worse answer you gave in a job interview? Did you still get the job afterwards?
First job I applied for when I came to the USA was at Walmart. I got a job interview and they asked me if I would tell my supervisor if I knew that one of my co-workers was using illegal drugs at home. My answer to it was that what they do at home is none of my business and if they do their job properly there would be no reasons to tell on them. Did I get the job: No lol Lesson learned. Lying may get you a job. Telling the truth may not get you a job...
Employer: "Was this the first job you applied for?"
Me: "No, it was the last."
Three days later, I was offered the job, but in the end I turned it down.
Question from employer: Can you pick up fifty lbs?
Answer: If I can't I'll find someone who can.

When I am asked to answer the question "tell me about yourself" the following mayhem ensues:
1) I blurt out the first thing that comes to mind
2) Waffle on in an unstructured way for a long (long) time
3) Talk about totally irrelevant things
4) Clam up
It's embarrassing really.
Here are a few tips to tell people about yourself in a powerful way.
1) Keep your answer short - under 30 seconds if you can
2) Include an achievement statement to support what you say
3) Practice your answer until you are confident in what you say
4) Tailor your answer to the role at hand
5) Be genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunity at hand.
