What are the most important things to do to prepare for a job interview?
To me, this is more simple than many make it. BE YOURSELF! Don't over prepare and end up making yourself nervous. Of course you need to shower and have a clean resume on hand but trying to rehearse or predict how it will go is likely to leave you stumbling when they ask you things you didn't see coming. You'll feel better about your new job knowing that they hired you as you are and you won't have to think about what you'll say or how you'll act because "you" flows easily. Say what you mean, mean what you say and don't be afraid of how the rest goes. This approach will also exude confidence as a by-product since you're not really having to think about your dialogue. Sure, there may be interviews that you don't land but perhaps that is telling you that it wasn't the job for you and you will be better off in the long run.
1. Know your resume from beginning to end.
2. If you have gaps between work history, have an answer ready of what you did(be honest) because 9 times out of 10 they will make a comment on it.
3. Have some kind of answer ready in relation to the future. Some interviewers like to know what you want to do with your life! It could be things like upskilling your skill ( doing courses )in the future.
4. If you have hobbies on your resume, like reading or watching tv. Then know a bit about the author or something about your favourite tv show.
Finally just relax and arrive in time and it should go ok.
