Why it is that most of us are latter day slaves in a sense, especially in the work world?

I think if you feel you are a slave, perhaps you need to change jobs.

Just today I was having a discussion with someone who was self employed. Remember, that the company or firm you work for wasn't always the size it is now. Someone had to have the foresight and take the risks to make it a success.
Look at it from the other side, would you want the responsibility of running your place of business. Have you seen what employees are entitled too?
I think this is a case of the grass is always green.

I made several attempts to define the expression "latter day slave," and could not find a definition for the expression.
Therefore, I am at a lost to answer the question.
Latter day slave is a new term, or expression for me. So much so, that I do not know how to answer your question.
I am sorry I cannot answer this question.
    Best regards,
    Dr. Haddox

Any person who is employed and working for someone else can be described as a latter day slave.    However, the definition particularly applies to low paid workers who often have to endure hellish conditions.    Take your pick!

For some of us creative types (like most of us on hubpages), we find it very difficult to work for someone else because our ideas are not listened or in many cases over looked. Always go with your hear and work for yourself.

Slaves can't quit, go on welfare and live off others.  They also don't have rights or choices.  Life's a garden: dig it!  The glass is half full....
