Should you give gifts to a manager or supervisor when he or she leaves?
Is this too much and difficult when you may not know what they like etc, or should you write something, perhaps in a card or letter?
Nicola.....I think parting gifts can be appropriate for any one, especially if you are particularly fond of someone and would like him/her to have something to remember you by. It's a nice gesture and I'm sure the person would be very appreciative. I suppose, we shouldn't go overboard, but a nice gift of memorabilia, is a very nice idea. Yes, I would include a card with a meaningful message written inside.........BTW....I'm not going anywhere, but you can buy me a present if you want!! LOL
