How can I tolerate someone?
I'm not sure if that's the way to say if and I feel really silly asking it but I'd like to know. I work with someone who gave off a rude impression to me and it has not improved. I've tried giving her a couple of chances because we do work together so we might as well get along but she is just rude and easily irritable. I've even confronted her but she didn't even let me finish talking. Just the sight of her or hearing her name makes me angry. And I don't want to look or feel mad. How can I stop?
Try feeling sorry for her and then forgive her. She doesn't need to know about this. Often, if someone is rude and easily irritated, they are under stress. She may have a difficult home life, maybe she is in pain from some illness, maybe she is stressed out about something, like money or her love life or a friend. It doesn't matter what. Once you feel sorry for her, tell yourself (under your breath if necessary), "I forgive you".
After that, don't try to be friends, just show a neutral, business-like attitude to her and let her deal with her own problems.
