Has Trade Unionism emerged from secret societies?
Looking into their beginnings where ever labour unions originated the Establishment of the time always attempted to eradicate them.
There seems to be no direct connection between the two. Trade Unionism is more of organised way of combining the strengths of workers for negotiating better terms for them.
