Depends on the terms of your contract.
If you don't have a specification as to how many days/weeks notice you have to get, I guess it is acceptable. Kind of rude, but still acceptable.
If you have specifications in your contract - usually if you give less, you forgo part of your holiday pay (at least in my country) if not all of it. I have to give 4 weeks.
Okay, thanks for answering. I know it seems rude to do so, but the conditions of the job is becoming irritating. And 4 weeks is a long time for notice, wow!
I figured that it might be due to the conditions! 4wks is standard in my country for health care professions (I'm an RN) to give notice so it's a while but it's the sane everywhere.
you mean, you want to resign from your job and letting your boss know in a week? If you are working less than a month, yes acceptable. If you are working a year, you have to give 1 month notice
