I have been working for myself, from home since the beginning of 2004. I am offered far, far more work than I can take on, which I why I have so few hubs written!

Admittedly I am using my very specific biomedical education up to PhD, language skills and previous scientific work experience to work as a medical translator. This is not something everyone can do. However, the message to take from it is that you have to look at your own particular education, skills and experience and then think how they can be used in a home-based business.

I would not do well trying to make a living by writing online as the topics that interest me and they way I like to write about them do not seem to be popular with the masses!

Wow! That;s great. Utilizing your skills by your own is a knock. Many people are finding it hard so they decide to choose to stay with their bosses.

Read, read, read information about SEO and keywords.

      Don't write in saturated topics.

      Write lots of content.

We started an internet business with only time investment and have built to a point we can pretty much pay for anything we need or want. In our case there was a learning curve. Meeting the right people and becoming part of the right team helped. Our team now does holistic branding, something which is in demand at the moment and demand is increasing. We also advertise for other website owners which is how we started. Our advice is find something you are passionate about and build a business around it.

That is pretty good ! It encourages the online living culture and passionate people to adore online-state as living mantra. Online presence should be just not for passing the time or wasting the time it should be positively used to create a living and encourage / help peers to come up and make them to say proudly "living online". Your efforts are good, kindly help other peers with few  immediate start up techniques  when they request  posting either a reply or starting an another hub 'how to do step by step' kind of stuff. It is really appreciable . You stand out as one of the models to help and set others to help. Thank you .

Of course you can make money working at home, like Wrylit says that's why we are here. There are other methods of making money online besides writing. Some of them require capital and time while some don't. The business you can select depends on if you want to work full time from home, how much you are willing to spend and how much you want to earn.

Personally, I earn more from my other online businesses than from hubbing. For others the reverse is the case. Hope this helped you.

      2. I want to earn $ 2500-3000 per month
      3. Please suggest what reaonable capital will be required?
      4. It should be a genuine business (no spam) where I have to put my capital.

Another important factor is your skill set as well as what you do for a living, this will influence the kind of online jobs you can handle. I will suggest you try online freelance jobs. The site i use pays me roughly about $250-500 per project and these are projects i can complete within 7 hours.

Also my skill set allows me to take on diverse jobs (it is not advisable to put all your eggs in one basket). I can speak and write spanish so i substitute for a language translator.

I use guru.com because it pays me better. I would suggest you try it. If you don't have any of the skills needed by the freelance companies then I would suggest you tell me your skill so i can point you in the right direction.

My skills are writing poems, children stories and working on a short novel. I also have experience in research papers. I love raising awareness and my love for poems is abundant. I am currently at the end of my psychology degree program, will have my B.S, and love how it can be used in a positive manner as opposed to controlling and manipulating with it. I have my assosicate degree in medical admin assisting, a diploma in health unit coordinating, medical coding and billing, and am a certified nurses aid and a RMA. In addition to hubpages I am with amazon aStore, adsense, and am also with goggle+, pinterest, xomba, and oDesk. Help??

So the site you use for freelance writing you spoke of, is guru.com. What kind of articles and experience is more likely to make money. Do you have to put in a bid for the jobs like oDesk? Do poeple hire anyone that just has a love for writing and has good grammar, wording skills and punctuation. I notice poeple on oDesk get jobs fast because they have technical degrees and extensive experience. Where's the place for writers like myself that are in demad or can be paid for their lov, passion, commitment, loyalty, and hardwork?

          1. profile image57
POSITIVEHOPEposted 12 years agoin reply to this

All sites don't ask you to pay for bidding; Few sites give  monthly few free bids ;if chance works out then they will charge part of our bid amount. As we take up more assignments chances of being hired will improve. Few things of our passion may not work for making money , then we need to adopt few niche skills and start loving them and growing with them. Once it gives fruits , our passion will also develop. So when you are good at writing poems, definitely you can write niche articles, once you start and they start paying you, you can go further with it. Few sites will only charge once assignment comes in hand payment is made. so be positive. You will succeed.

But one can achieve success with virtual trading platforms for learning things online and how to be cautious with our investments. One needs to study a lot then only success comes next. Sir , you are actually in great demand, I think because Economic articles writes are paid well by business magazines. Just browse for popular as well as upcoming business magazines , then send your resume to them with few sets of latest ( well researched  articles) that can open doors for you.

Following sites also offer article writing jobs, based on quality of work one can demand more by showing our previous  work.

Mekan39 have you considered writing an e-book on your field? The book could be on some helpful but little known topic in your field. You could advertise it with adwords and you can sell it via amazon.

BrowneesOrchid I'm a programmer. I don't know much about the health field and i wouldn't want to give you hollow advice. Why don't you talk to WriteAngled she seems to know more about health issues. I would also advice you to acquire new skills

    You need four things:

Time. It will probably take a few years to build up income streams unless you really nail a technique and niche.

Study. Yes, you need to lewrn about SEO and (possibly) social promotion, plus basic skills like setting up a blog. The good news is that there are tons of free tutorials. The bad news is that anyone can write a tutorial, and as you know from your own field, people can offer bad advice. Which is why you need

Judgment, both to weigh the advice and tools you find, and to observe your own small successes and build on them. Each website has tools to tell you what searches brought people to your content and/or what they bought. This information is incredibly useful: it shows you what parts of your own knowledge, skills, and interests  are in demand, and what people are looking for. Online monetary success requires you to pay attention to readers and visitors and let them be the bosses that tell you which projects to work on, which leads to follow. (whereas a hobbyist just writes whatever feels right).

Knowledge, experience, skills, expertise that you can translate into valuable, excellent, above-average content. In your case, banking expertise. Here you have an advantage. Most people with professional banking expertise are bankers, with not enough time to study the web and figure out how to package, share, and deliver their knowledge to the web public. That's not their job. In fact, to a certain extent, it's forbidden in their job, since they can't give away corporate secrets. You have more freedom. You can write expert, informative articles that most other web writers can't, because you know things they don't. The challenge is how to translate your knowledge into something useful for the general public. Answers to common laymen questions are a great way to break in. Why are forex futures risky? What are alternatives? What do we do as a substitute for a savings account, when savings accounts barely earn any interest these days? Those are the kinds of articles you can write.

The problem is that online moneymaking is slow. Some articles earn pennies a month. Others dollars a month. Others fifty dollars a month (I don't get that here, but I do elsewhere.) As you can tell from numbers like that, it's hard to build a $1000+ /month portfolio with online writing; few succeed. There is zero initial investment beyond computer and web connection, but the's a bigger initial investment of time and effort.

I really think hubpages should do more in terms of mobile phones connections. I've been trying to reply your message Browneesorchids but all to no avail.

Your educational qualifications are mind-boggling. What i mean by new skill is a skill that is readily marketable. Like writeangled said not all topics appeal to the masses. You could also learn foreign languages.

The benefits of learning foreign languages are innumerable and they even go beyond money making. I can't begin to count the number of connections i have made. Try it

Hi, I work from home on part time basis. I use the following sites to earn money:

    1. Ebay - sell anything and everything - make anything between £500 to £1000 p/m

    2. Etsy - Sell vintage items and craft supply - so far made about £500, new on the site and will be making more once I learn more.

    3. Fiverr.com - I provide graphics design service - earn between £200 to $300 p/m

    4. Ioffer.com - sell mainly open source materials.  Earn between $100 to $200 p/m

    5. Also I am making money from few sites I have made muself, mainly selling ebooks and digital item.

You can make money online but it's not easy, there is a lot to learn.  Thanks.

If you are interested in photography, take nice photographs and upload those. You can genuinely earn money. Second option is you can go for free lancing. Grow some knowledge about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The last thing I would suggest you to go for online share trading. Obviously if you find that interesting.
