I know of one that is not on the internet. Look in your local paper in the employment section. I get a paper called the Scotsman, and every time there is an ad for work at home. They send you out materials to build little trinkets like baskets, and other easy to make things. All you do is build them, and send them back to the employer. Then they sell them. They in turn pay you per item you complete. I think the ad said you can make at least $400 a week. But, it all depends on how much you produce. That's the only way I heard of to make money at home.

Otherwise do what ariariari said. Just a thought. =]

Hubpages offers many ways to monetize your hubs. There is a wonderful "Learning Section" here.
I also suggest doing legitimate online surveys and sweepstakes. Most of the legit. survey sites offer great rewards such as: cash, or amazon gift codes. Online Sweepstakes sites have an "Instant Win" thread, listing the sweeps where you can instantly win just about anything. From trips, to cash, T.V.'s, etc.
I wish you many successful hubs, surveys, and sweeps!

HubPages, as well as other outlets (YouTube among others) offer partner programs where advertising is placed around your content, and you are paid for every impression you recieve. Look into Amazon partners program, as well as YouTube's.

Aside from Hubpages have you considered looking around your house and photographing what you have but don't need?

Put those pictures up on eBay and you may be surprised which items you own that you can sell.

If you do not mind selling for a direct selling company, the company I sell with, The Longaberger Company, is offering a free signup for anyone who wants to earn money for their own business.   You are selling Longaberger products.   The products are baskets, pottery, wrought iron, food items, and home decor, such wall art and candles.   This offer is through December 31, 2010.   You will not receive any products or paperwork with this offer.   If you would rather get the business kit, which includes paperwork (order forms, flyers, catalogs), products from all lines (including a sister's tote), Longaberger has three sizes to choose from:  $49 will get you paperwork and a Medium market basket; Business basic Kit, which is $229, or the Business Builder Kit (which includes at least one item from each of the product lines and paperwork) $459.   The $459 kit can be broken up in 6 month payment installments.
I have been with Longaberger since 2001, and I love it.   You can check out my website (which you will get free in all 4 business opportunities (free, $49, $229, and $459) ) at www.longaberger.com/patricialogan.   After you had a chance to look around, and if you are ready to join, just click the Join me button to get started.
I hope you decide to take a look, and this business can be worked anyway you want as a part-time and full-time position.   there are incentives that you can earn with this business, and you will receive training as well.   Good luck in finding something to do, and it is legitimate,

I own multiple businesses and work from home, but I'm most excited about a recently launched company called eFoods Global. The product is Gourmet Emergency Storable Survival foods, and the income opportunity and compensation plan is so revolutionary it is patent pending! Please check out my hub at: www.hubpages.com/hub/foodreservesnow and/or visit my website for details about the business opportunity and the awesome products! My site is: www.thrivenow.myefoods.com
This is an incredibly easy business to grow and I've already got 165 people on my business team after just two months from joining! I would recommend this opportunity to anyone!!! Moreover, I'll help you become successful and profitable in it!!!

Your hub post fascinated me. I can connect myself with you as I felt that way too 3 years ago. I have 5 kids and devoted myself to rearing them up. Somehow, I lost track of the latest technology, latest trends in making money. I wanted to explore my potential yet don't know where to start. Until a friend of mine introduced me to a freelance site. That opened numerous opportunities for me. I learned a lot of things I never knew before. The bottom line is, there is no way for any mom or housewife to feel hopeless. We can always find ways to learn things and be a productive half to our husband while at home.

There are thousands of ways! If you have a hobby or special interest, you can build a website about it and make money from ads, affiliate revenue, or creating and selling your own products.

People have mentioned surveys, eBay, network marketing... I haven't played in any of those.

If you like to write, keep turning out hubs. You can also hire yourself out to write articles for others, create unique articles that you sell in packs (called PLR), or learn how to be a copywriter - that's how I earn a living.

Like taking photos? Submit your work to istock and other sites.

Then there's flipping domain names and websites for a profit, creating and managing facebook and twitter accounts for companies, doing local seo optimization for bricks-and-mortar businesses in your area, using arbitrage to find someone who needs something - say a website built - and then hiring someone to build it, and keeping a cut.

    The sky's the limit, really...

Writing for hubpages like what you are doing is one great way of making money. Use tools like the google keyword tool to find keywords that people search for or yahoo answers to find out what people want. Then write about those topics and this will give you more traffic if your page is ranked high in google.

You can also build a blogger blog and, like what you do here, write articles. But this time, find the keyword you are targeting first then get a matching blog address. then write articles specific to that topic  and use adsense to monetize the site. To get this blogger site to rank better, you link from your hubpages to that site and you can even use other web 2.0 services like wordpress, livejournal, xanga etc. publish blogs on those and link them to your blogger site. This increases visbility and gets your site better ranked in google. Hopefully, you get traffic and people click on your links. then you earn money big_smile

A new system that has just been launched could help you.
Its not free but then this is an all in one software and training package. I review money making products and systems, this is the best I have seen this year.

I have been working as a consultant since year 2008 and I work on hourly basis or fixed costs basis.

The important thing is to realize your skills then create an online presence at places where people might look for people like you with these skills.

I get several opportunities this way just while sitting at my home and many times I have to turn them down.

I am member of websites like odesk.com and this website provides people with just about any skill to get an online contract.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Aditya
