Interview: Ruby Fuller
Meet Ruby ....
Ruby Fuller, also known as Always Exploring, is a friend I would love to sit and have coffee with at a small town cafe.
Oh wait! I do visit with Ruby most every day at Emerald Wells Cafe.
I feel as though we are kindred spirits Also a nurse, Ruby is known for her compassionate and nurturing manner in HubVille. She also has a charming sense of humor and excellent taste in music of all genres.
Ruby writes with her heart. She feels life so deeply that the reader is quickly swept into the meaning and imagery of her words.
Over the months that we have been friends, I have watched Ruby unfold into a blossoming and fragrant flower. To me, she has found her voice and passion in this most creative outlet called writing.
After you read this interview, I invite you to take a trip to some of her hubs. You will quickly learn why I love our jewel of a Ruby...!
The times that I feel saddest is ....
thinking about my two sisters who have passed away, wishing I had one more day to tell them how much I loved them. I don't think I told them enough, also, I was always in a hurry to have everything perfect in my home and life, I forgot to stop and smell the roses.
Something I’d like to teach others
Hummmm..That's a difficult one. I guess I would like to teach the young Mothers that life passes so quickly and the little one will soon be gone from the nest, so teach them humility and to love all people regardless of race or gender preference and most specifically there is a God and he loves everyone.
My secret passion, my dream job.
My secret passion is to live on a plantation, be Scarlett O'Hara and make passionate love with Rhett Butler. My dream job would be nursing. I always dreamed of being a nurse when I was a little girl, and I fulfilled that dream, loved every moment of it.
Most hated gift I ever gave someone...
I wanted my son to be able to play an instrument in the school band so I bought him a trombone and a set of drums. He disliked the trombone with a passion but loved the drums. I hated the drums, quickly moving him to the basement.
The gift I could have done without....
My husband bought me a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. When in reality I was hoping for a small box to unwrap, finding a beautiful diamond or a shiny gold bracelet.
If you peeked in my junk drawer you'd be surprised to find.....
500 keys. I have no idea what they're for, but I keep them, just in case...
My date from Hades....
I went out with this person, we went to a movie, first date. He asked me to marry him. I told him NO, the next day my stepfather went to the mailbox and retrieved a small box, inside was a wedding ring! Can you imagine? I was sixteen.
My worst/or funniest vacation story...
We went to the Bahamas Islands after spending a week in Miami. It was a cloudy day. I spent the entire day at the pool. I had the worst sunburn of my life. We left the next day for the Islands. I was in so much pain I couldn't attend a luau, my best friend was lots of ice.
A life goal on my bucket list ...
contentment
What I most look for in a friend...
Unconditional love and respect.
Something I will never part with...
My picture albums. So many wonderful memories of the good times. Sigh
A life lesson I will never forget ...
I married my second husband without knowing his heart. His hatred of people of color broke my heart..
The worst part of getting older...
Gray hair, I hate it. Why must our hair change? We're still the same inside. So as long as ' Nice and easy' is sold, they have a customer...
A writing lesson I learned the hard way.....
When I first joined Hubpages, I had this desire to write poetry. I wrote a poem (It was no masterpiece. ) A hubber came to visit and said, "Nice poem, the rhyming is not good” ) I almost quit, but something inside me got hostile and I wrote another one, he came back to visit and said, " better " HaHa
My favorite movie and why....
My favorite movie is ' Gone with the Wind ' I went to see it when I was a teen. I fell in love with Clark Gable and I don't think I’ve ever gotten over it. I love old classic movies and when I see him I have that feeling. I would never have treated him badly like Scarlett did. Hee
What subjects / genres do you enjoy reading about?....
I love the Emerald Wells Café Series by mckbirdbks. I love Vincent Moore's poetry. I love drbj's interviews, plus many more....

I must say that I miss Doug Turner's poetry. He hasn't been around for awhile. The one I really miss is Fay Paxton's hubs on politics. She is one smart cookie,
Oh and I love Eddy (eiddwen). Martie Coetser said that we are cyber friends and I could not agree more!
What songs make you want to pack up and leave the party ....?
I have always loved George Jones..I would pack up and go with him anyplace. Hee I also love Michael Jackson and my man Elvis and I can't forget Elton John. There are many more, Tina Turner, Sammy Davis, Vince Gill. I could go on forever.
Me too, Ruby ... I got so lost in this list, as these are some of the best musical artists of all times. I selected two from this list and hope you enjoy them.
Music has been my companion throughout my life. My Mother loved music; our radio was never turned off.
George Jones: Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town
Thank you, Ruby....
With no difficulty at all, I selected this rendition of "Respect" to dedicate to you, Ruby ,in keeping with The Supremes theme in the series
