How does my unpublished hub have 2 page views?

I'm freaking out! I'm not ready to publish it, I need to edit, and I'm not even 100% sure I want to make it a hub! Who looked at it?

You will probably get different answers, but I think it's HP recording you looking at it in preview mode or after you've saved your changes. Calm down. It's okay. smile

You looked at it.  Every time you look at your own hubs, whether they are published or drafts, a view is recorded.

Or bigfoot hacked into your account to read your hubs to make sure you weren't writing a tell-all expose of your hot one-night tryst together.

It's seems to be that when you view your own hubs it counts as a view.

I freaked out, too, when I first started writing Hubs and noticed this same phenomenon. @George Lowery is correct, though: it records each time you view your unpublished hub.

I have a hub I wrote today. I looked at it twice, maybe 3 times and it is showing 10 views. I submitted it. Realize I forgot to to the summary so resubmitted again and it shows 10 views.

It's probably your own hits from when you go the the page before hitting Edit.

Its the amount of times you've looked at it. HP counts your own views as traffic.

Most likely the stats are counting and adding up each time as you click on & pull that particular page up.

Hi Jesse. It happens to me too, all the time. I assume it is people at HP. The first time I noticed it, I was a little upset, because, like you, I have stuff I'm not sure I want to publish, and some other unedited or unfinished hubs. After that, I realized that when published, it will be assessed by someone anyway. So now I made it a little game. I start something even though I know it'll take a little while to be completed, and sure enough, shortly after, the view count starts rolling, which I now find very funny. Maybe, as I write stories with several parts, somebody somewhere can't wait to know what comes next ? Dream on smile

It could possibly be people at HP, monitoring content. I have to laugh at your game, that is so funny, I might start doing it! Thanks for your input! smile
