How does my unpublished hub have 2 page views?
I'm freaking out! I'm not ready to publish it, I need to edit, and I'm not even 100% sure I want to make it a hub! Who looked at it?
You will probably get different answers, but I think it's HP recording you looking at it in preview mode or after you've saved your changes. Calm down. It's okay.
I feel like I have mutliple personalities and they are stalking eachother. Or something.
I need a drink.
ROTFLMAO! It's a group date then, we'll meet you guys at the bar.
Just find us one with some good music. We like metal.
Some of us want to get tattoos while we are out, can we make a stop? I won't stop bugging me if we don't...
Sure. Maybe we can get a group discount. And you too!
I like your thinking, you guys are great
Awesome sauce! We think y'all all are our kind of people, too!
A friend of mine says it. He's weird, too!
I love you multiple personality comment Jesse, it is too funny.
You looked at it. Every time you look at your own hubs, whether they are published or drafts, a view is recorded.
Or bigfoot hacked into your account to read your hubs to make sure you weren't writing a tell-all expose of your hot one-night tryst together.
I knew it was him... but damn that night was magical.
It's okay James, we'll get to the bottom of it. Thanks for commenting
if i found an answer for ur quest ,i ll msg u
It's seems to be that when you view your own hubs it counts as a view.
I freaked out, too, when I first started writing Hubs and noticed this same phenomenon. @George Lowery is correct, though: it records each time you view your unpublished hub.
Thanks everymom, I have concluded that, that is what it is. Happy I'm not crazy!
I have a hub I wrote today. I looked at it twice, maybe 3 times and it is showing 10 views. I submitted it. Realize I forgot to to the summary so resubmitted again and it shows 10 views.
It's probably your own hits from when you go the the page before hitting Edit.
Its the amount of times you've looked at it. HP counts your own views as traffic.
Most likely the stats are counting and adding up each time as you click on & pull that particular page up.
This is what I am thinking, Thank you Goody5!
Hi Jesse. It happens to me too, all the time. I assume it is people at HP. The first time I noticed it, I was a little upset, because, like you, I have stuff I'm not sure I want to publish, and some other unedited or unfinished hubs. After that, I realized that when published, it will be assessed by someone anyway. So now I made it a little game. I start something even though I know it'll take a little while to be completed, and sure enough, shortly after, the view count starts rolling, which I now find very funny. Maybe, as I write stories with several parts, somebody somewhere can't wait to know what comes next ? Dream on
It could possibly be people at HP, monitoring content. I have to laugh at your game, that is so funny, I might start doing it! Thanks for your input!

Does anyone know the magic formula to increasing page views. Here is what I am looking at for averages over all of my accounts and hubs. Monthly Views: 17 Per HubAd Program Earnings Per Page view: .005 (half a penny)Adsense and Amazon Revenue: Negligible, not calculated. So, this means...

I know that our own views are counted on the stats page but I have not opened this hub to edit it today and yet I can see that I have had four visits!

Can anyone explain why my page views have plummeted in the last few days. They have gone from 300 per day to 25 per day. Before December I was steadily increasing page views and was up in the high 300's. Throughout December the views slowly dropped down to the mid 200's then out of the blue 3 days...

I am experiencing an overall average off 66 percent less page views per day, for seven days versus a week previous and for the past two months. Such a huge drop in page views makes me think that Google has tuned up something again. I do know that I don't have the time and energy to keep...

One of my lousy hub, which has an ordinary url that is not quite 100%, and ordinary content has had a very good number of page views. When I first put it up it got 1000s of hits straight away.It was then found that it was not within the TOS here on hubpages, but most likely did not comply in some...
