Is there still life on HubPages?

My views dropped by 90 %, almost none new hubs written by my friends Hubbers, activity close to absolute zero ... Is this normal???

It;s probably that everyone is out doing their Christmas shopping and all the last minutes stuff. Rather than anything serious. Give it a couple of days and see if things start to recover. Most business starts to fall of for a few days over Christmas. Things I hope will begin to pick up again.

Yes, I have noticed the same drop in views.  Not to worry though, once the holidays are behind us things will be back to normal.

I think more and more people are spending time with their families rather than being on the computer, let along taking the time to write a hub. The same for reading hubs. This too soon shall pass. Merry Christmas!!

Everything have ups and down, so Hub Pages also!.
Hub Pages, being a gathering place of writers, naturally the festival seasons, in reading, writing, answering etc will shoe some drop out. I hope the situation may change after Xmas and new year celebrations.
Happy Xmas and New Year wishes to you, ur family and all readers, hubbers, and all friends.

The latest drop in traffic happened after the latest Google update a few days ago.  Many hubbers saw their traffic drop 50% or more.  Holidays may have something to do with some of it, but the primary reason for the drop in traffic is Google

All these people are correct. Why not do some recruiting for the site? Invite your friends and family as if you were sending them an invite on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter etc... Help your stats out by getting more active users to the site. The more people you know, the better your traffic will be because they will usually keep coming back for more.

Phtech, it sounds like a good idea. I want to know more people! How about to know the whole world population? :-) Only just seven billion? OK, I take the number of humans who have ever lived - 106 billion - sounds better. :-) Have a great New Year!

  9. techniche profile image58

Perhaps , The New Year and the Google Updates are the major reason .
Insider : The new Google Update "Dinosaur" is on its way and expected in new year . It may relieve many of the bloggers who have been hurt by Google Panda and penguins update .

Hi! I'm so happy to hear it! More of Googles giggles! How funny is it?! Dinosaur! It sounds really sour! OK, when it will help to improve our search on Google, and OK when it will honor our well written articles. Happy New Year to you!

There have been some very strange results since the December 12th update. Gooogle are fine tuning the signals they receive to improve reader experience. Poorly written work will get hammered.

jantamayaposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Hi molometer, thanks for the comment. That's fine with Google. I only don't understand why every update they run hits my hubs for two or three weeks. After this time, everything is back again. There is not much logic but lots of mystery in it.

Gosh i hope so,  I have three more articles in my drafts, and I hope that 2013 finds us all more traffic.   I wonder if the holidays  have people side traced, on holidays etc.  I look forward to more time to read others hubs , as well as get some more of my own published.
Hang in there, it can only get better:)

Jaydene, you're fabulous! Of course, it'll be better! It's already now much better. This is as shivanchirakkal10 said (one of the responders here) everything has ups and downs. Wish you an enjoyable 2013!

I was away for a while and all the numbers plummeted!

jantamayaposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Yes! I was away for two years (almost), but still I've received my payments from HubPages! This is a good thing. On the other hand, the ups and downs on HubPages are just normal... After less good times better times will follow. This is the law :-)

I would hope so.. I just joined a week ago and have about 470 pageviews.  I guess that is pretty decent, but I'm not sure the standards here.

You are extraordinarily productive, and write high quality hubs. No wonder that you have many visitors. I would say that your start here, can be compared with an explosion of a star, like a supernova! Congratulations and welcome!

I realize that this question was asked a month ago, but our fellow hubbers have still been departing on a daily basis for some time now. The numbers are slowing, but folks are still on the move. I've been keeping track of the stats since last year, and this may be apart of the reason to your question - http://goody5.hubpages.com/hub/Google-vs-the-Hub-Pages

If Hubpages changes some rules, like you can create article in different language the traffic and people may increase as well by %.

I think this is normal that your hubs are falling and at the same time most of the hubs been rising.Every new day internet users discovered hubpages.com so it's still life here on hubpages.

I too noticed a degree of falling traffic.  I have to say that I was blaming myself because I have been preoccupied with other things for the last few months and have not 'put my time in' on HUB Pages.

I just renewed my commitment to my HUBS and started a review of my older HUBS to give them a little facelift.

My writing time is still a bit tight but as I was updating my HUBS, I had the idea to write an article about review and edit of older HUBS to possibly generate more traffic.  Just posting a new HUB has increased my traffic in the past few days.

Keep on HUBBING and good luck to all!
