Why some of my hubs have very good traffic but very few comments

for instance this hub http://hub.me/aa90c have very good traffic on daily basis but there are very few comments from the reader. Is there a possibility that I have done some thing wrong in the setting of this hub.

I wonder the same thing, and I have theories that I don't think I should share.  Here is my favorite one, though.

They don't read it all because it is not their cup of joe.

I've done it.  Probably to some good, great, fabulous hubs, too, but I will be really honest with you... I hate "how to's" unless I need a how to.  And to be honest, if the audience from outside HubPages that comes across one of any of our hubs reads it all, they may not know that they can comment.  I am fairly certain that I have gotten comments in the past from people who were not Hub writers.  I've never read Hubs externally, but I have found some through google searches where I needed something else.

Look at some Hubbers with 100 scores on their profile, an you'll see quite often that even they have hubs with 0 comments.  It is not for lack of quality, that, I can assure you.

Thanks Brandon for your comments i am 50% agree with you that  there are some visitors who don't know that they can comment as well. However i mostly get comments from fellow hubber in the past. Comments are the source of appreciation for me

I would say some read the hubs, but don't necessarily have anything to add -so they don't comment.  Some probably just skim it over and move on.  Don't get caught up in who does or does not comment.  Just keep hubbing!  Your audience will grow.

mariasial, I checked out some hubs. Being a Technical Writer, I constantly check grammar and sentence structure.  I would not comment on some of your hubs simply because of the errors. My writing pet peeves keep me from commenting at times.

Yup, i agree that some people just read yr hubs without commenting. As long as yr traffic is increasing, your views increase, you are on the right track. Congrats

If you want comments, it helps to understand why people comment. A few typical reasons would be:

    * They disagree with something you said.
    * You wrote a how to that was extremely helpful.
    * You asked a question, and they're weighing in.

For a straight up, informative article (like the one you linked), there's very little incentive for people to comment. They're probably searching the internet for info, and after they skimmed your hub they went back to Google to read another page.

If you really want more comments, then I'd suggest one of two things.

Write about controversial topics. This will get people to disagree with you, and this will get people to weigh in.

Include a call to action. At the end of your hub, ask people a question. Otherwise, really, why should they leave a comment?
