What are the standard minimum sizes for images in hubpages?
I've been going through the learning center and can find a lot on attribution and where to get images and found a section stating 1000 wide for full width images but I can't seem to find the minimum sizes for the side images. I've also done searches in forum but nothing seems to come up. Thanks.
I don't think there is a definite answer to this one. Even 120 x 120 may work well in some cases. I try to use 640 wide for majority of my stuff on web. Lower sizes don't look so attractive if you aim at positions in Google image search results, but larger sizes can slow down your pages what can hurt your rankings because pages will load slower in this case.
One more thing - it's not only the a X b, it's the level of compression to think about too. Better compression will make the size of your images smaller (better load time), but can worsen the resolution. So go for best compromise with thought about your traffic (mobile users prefer speed, desktop users quality, for instance).
Hope this helps:)
Thanks Tolovaj. I certainly haven't been able to find one yet. I usually save my images for web viewing via photoshop on my blogs but wasn't sure what to do with the hubpages so thanks for the extra info.
There is information in the FAQ here

Thanks Matthew, that was the page I read already. I thought there might be a more definitive size for the right side image. I keep resizing for one of my lenses but it just doesn't look or fit right in my opinion so I thought there might be min.
I don't like using huge images unless I have to in order to capture everything in a picture that I want on the hub. For the most part, I take images into my graphic program, crop them so readers see the main focus of the picture (usually they're almost square), and then resize them so the longest side is 250 pixels. This seems to work for me. If the picture you want to use has a lot of small details, reducing the size too much will eliminate the details you want people to see so make them larger. I hope this helps.
Thanks Sheila. It looks like 250 might be the smallest size. I tried loading 200 but I kept getting an error.
I think if try smaller than about 225 it gets expanded to fit the box and then it looks fuzzy.

I need to find out how to optimize and make the most out of my hubs. With Kontera, do I need to sign up as well?

Why do you think the hub with the highest score was scored higher than your others? Interested to know.

I have been pinning my Hubs on Pinterest for a few months now, and about 70 of my Hubs are now pinned. I have also had several of my pins to Hubs shared by others on Pinterest. Despite all of this, I do not have one single click from Pinterest showing up in my HubPages traffic...

Whether the author on HubPages can use images and content elsewhere?

HubPages converts all .png and .gif images to .jpeg format, and appears to use some aggressive compression. Jpeg might be okay for photos, but for things like website or computer program screenshots, or clip art (containing large solid-color areas and text) the result is often very poor, even if...
