Can you actually make a living with Hubpages ?
Can anyone tell me if he/she really thinks that he/she can actually make a living by writing for Hubpages ; if you are already making a living by writing hubs here then tell me please , because i'm ready to invest a lot of time for something serious , but if no one is making good money here then there's no reason for me invest that much of time and effort so just tell me what you think , thanks .
LOL! Your chances of hitting the lottery is better. IMO having your own website is the best way to go. However, you still won't get rich overnight, or make enough cash to pay your bills every month, unless you are extremely lucky. Some writers have obtained paid writing jobs due to their writing, as well as job offers with magazines, etc, but that is few and far between.
It is against TOS for anyone to disclose their earnings.
thanks for the answer , and sorry i didn't know that , by the way you really think having an own website or blog is better
I highly doubt that you will make enough to live off of here to be completely honest. Look at it this way if you spend an hour each week writing a hub (that is 52 hubs each year). You will be making money everyday without doing too much. Sure, it might take a couple of months to reach payout. You are still getting paid for not really doing too much.
I haven't written as much as I would have liked the last few months, and yet I still earn a little bit everyday. In short, this is not something I would recommend for someone that needs to make money quick or wants to make enough to support themselves and quit their day job.
HP alone? No. As Linda mentioned, having your own niche website is the best bet, but it is a lot of work and persistence is required. I have a few niche websites, some are over 12 years old. I do make a living off of those sites and writing for other clients.
I have used my hubs as writing samples when seeking out work. I have also had offers/requests from people who have read my hubs. I approach HubPages as one small element of a freelance writing career.
I guess you're right , thanks for the reply .
Statistically you are unlikely to make a living but, depending on where you live, how much you need to pay your bills, and how much work you are willing to put into your body of work here (including editing and deleting things that do not work) it is a possibility.
If you want to read some stats, check out the hub on earnings by relache. While you have very few hubs, do not expect to earn anything. You have to work hard at it for about 3 months before making your first payout. (But, since most people never do work at it, they do not see this first payout for a lot longer than that, if ever.)
If you do decide to work at it, good luck.

I just stumbled across this place and the only information I really ascertained was that 60% of add revenues, but that doesn't really help me since I don't know what it is 60% of, so, how much money does someone typically earn from a good hub? Thanks and sorry for the potential obviousness of...
