    Making money on Hubpages?

How is the situation on Hubpages nowadays? Are people still making money here?

It depends.  If you write good, high quality content and have several hubs and are patient you can make good residual income here.  If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, you're in the wrong place.  smile

This answer is as wide and varied as the thousands of writers here....their work, experience, number of years here, etc...   STILL making money?  OR FINALLY making money?  Or just plunking along?  I parrot Christin. "It depends."

If we are paying attention and keeping up with all the latest news and advice.....the truth is we all know what we need to do to make money.  As a main goal or intention of one's writing, I am led to understand that HP alone is fairly tough.  There are some long-sufferers and heavy hitters who I'm sure do quite well.  They EARN that money, I'm also sure.

Then there are those of us who are pleased with being here, have a love and NEED to write and make do with whatever amount of money we're lucky enough to pull in.  After 4 years here, I do clearly see that my earnings pretty accurately reflect my efforts.   I think that comes down to it all being "up to us."

I agree on your "reflect my efforts" comment. That is so true, because I found when I spent more time here I earned more. Now I post the occasional article, and occasionally comment on the Hubs of others. My earnings show I have not put in the effort

I think there are some people making money here and there are some who do not make money and some are in between. I suppose if people write well and it is something that a lot of people are interested in, then they make money. Let us face it, there are lots of good or brilliant writers here who write good stuff and I believe, they make money. Good luck to them. The more efforts we put in the more money we get. For my efforts, I get my fair share and I am happy with that.

I've been here four years and have at present time 176 hubs up and running. These hubs are a variety of poetry, reviews, research articles and personal pieces. My hobbies, my family, my pets or what ever interest me at the time can end up on Hubpages.  I've managed in those four years to have a couple of payouts.

Upgrades to older work help keep them in the spotlight. The idea of work now and reap the rewards later seemed very appealing to me when I first joined this community. I was also looking for a practice sight for feedback. This is the place for that. Money will not come without working hard everyday. Keeping it active is a must. My past efforts only pay out pennies per day. It's not likely I'll ever make a living here. I'm glad I wasn't expecting to. I guess, I better keep my day job.

My hubs are all recipes so there is just so much you could write about them.  I try to relate them to personal experiences and stories, but again, there is just so I can write.  I don't make much money at all, just a couple of dollars.  Does anyone actually make a couple of hundred dollars?
