How do YOU like to pick your next topic?

Just curious to see a few peoples methods for picking topics for their hubs.Do you like to search trending topics, or do you prefer to pull things you know, or are you interested to learn something new and give a how-to on it?

For me, since I write mostly opinion, my next topic is a product of something that stirs me up. smile

As I am trying to make money doing this I let the keywords I find that I believe give me the best chance to accomplish that dictate my topics. As far as other topics are concerned for just writing creatively I just sorta pick those out of thin air when an inspiration hits me that I feel may be entertaining. For example my hub,"How To Get Drunk With Style and Grace". Not great money making potential with that one product wise, but was just sitting around being a zombie and it hit me out of thin air.

I like to write on diverse topics that interest me. It might need some research and I always try to add a different perspective and a personal opinion to whatever I write. At times, I just don't feel like reading and researching, hence choose topics which directly comes from me, my heart.

When I find I am having a hard time deciding I actually love looking at pictures. Looking at pictures really helps me look at things and see what clicks. Like "OH, I have a story for that!" kind of thing. It really is interesting for me to hear so many different approaches to writing.

Mia amica dolce asked this question: How do you like to pick YOUR next topic?  It's funny she should ask.  To me, the best way to discover a topic is to ask questions.  If there were no questions, there would be no answers.  If there were no... read more
