I noticed the success stories on the landing page of HubPages quotes earnings from over a year ago. Can a new user expect to achieve the same results with the same effort and quality of hub, given all of the recent changes I have been reading about? Are the average passive income amounts the same or close to those advertised?
My earnings have continued to drop for several months, so I would have to say "no."
The Short Answer; NO...
But saying that; many of us do well enough with Hubpages and our own sites. Hubpages in my mind is still a good format to use to get pages ranked and earn some money but with the changes it is not as good as it was. But then they are constantly adapting the site to make improvements so I would hope that they will be able to at least maintain things as they are; after all they make money if we make money!
Once upon a time the power of HP would allow you to rank and make money from anything, now you have to work at it just as you do with any other site.
I agree. Hubpages isn't what it was the the issue is Google not HubPages. You can still make money here but it is harder than it used to be. Many of my hubs that made money don't any more but a few are doing very well! It is so easy to blame the platform but it is up to the writer to find the traffic!
When the platform is Google penalized, your material will fall in views no matter if you do as you suggest, that it is up to the writer to find the traffic. I strongly disagree with that reasoning. If you had material here that you did promote, have it ranking in Google well, and good views and then only after changes here on HP did things bottom out without you doing a thing, well, my reasoning, which I feel is very sound, it is the platform.
I would say that it is still possible, just a lot harder and a lot more work. Some are now seeing that the effort it takes to get what they used to is not worth it.
I would say that it's no longer a "passive income" as it used to suggest. With constant changes, "set it and forget it" is not the way to work anymore.

I'm curious to hear if there are any hubbers, who saw a big drop in traffic after the most recent Google Panda and Penguin updates, have fixed their issues and are getting good traffic again yet?I think it would be good for us all to know what changes brought about your renewal of traffic, since...

Having been with Hubpages for getting on two years now, and having penned 83 Hubs, I think it's time I threw the towel in. Over that time, I conscientiously stuck to all the rules and guidelines, and was rewarded by views gradually rising to around 350 per day with earnings around $25 per month. I...

Does anyone know why the turnout is so low? My daily earnings has never been so bleak, is anyone else experiencing this?

I have been on Hub Pages about a year and I have written about 27 Hubs and they have received close to 5000 views, which I felt was not bad and my status hovers between 82-88. Last week I had about 8 of my Hubs featured, which again seemed ok. Now magically overnight, I have all these codes now...

I would like to ask if it's worth it to post my articles here for passive income. Helpful tips are kindly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
