Hi - I've written my first two hubs, having completed many of the tutorials. I'd love some feedback on how I've utilized hubpages suggestions, such as creating good content, good titles, using images and links, etc.

Thanks so much for your time!

      Welcome to Hubpages, Bridgett!

I just finished reading your first hub.  You did good, girl.  I left you a comment.

Keep up the good work, and I wish you all the best here on Hubpages. smile

I read your hub on the benefits of going vegan and left a comment.  It's a good hub  in the sense that not only is it well thought out and written, but it is also a great springboard to write other hubs that are connected to that particular topic.

One of the best things you can do on Hub Pages is to make Hubs that are connected, this way you keep people reading your hubs, thus increasing your potential for revenue!

It's also a good idea to write a really in-depth (and thus longer) hub on a particular topic once in a while, especially if it's a topic you have knowledge about, experience with or just a passion for writing about.  People like to bookmark these kinds of hubs and pass on the link to your hub for other people to read, which can help bring new followers to you and adds to your credibility as a writer.

      Good luck!

I was looking at your putting toddlers to sleep hub. I don't have kids, but I appreciate the advice. Two points to add

      1) Right at the end of introduction, list all 5 points that you explained below, sort of as a "pre-summary" or "index"

      2) Add a little more at the end, to wrap up the advice, about you can do it, pep talk, and such.

Welcome to HubPages!  You're doing great. I read and commented on one of your hubs.  I like the fact that you used different capsules for the text, and gave each one a header, and the fact that you added images all throughout the hub.  The hub was easy to read, provided great information, and did not contain any glaring spelling or grammar errors.  Awesome! It is obvious that you have read the Learning Center entries and actually learned from them.

My comments for Holiday Cranberry Juice Recipe - sorry if I'm pedantic!:

Opening paragraph - way too short. There are a lot of cranberry juice recipes - you therefore need to hook me - why is your recipe better than all the others?

Pictures - you've used generic pictures of Cranberry - why not make the juice and take pictures as you go through - showing you actually make it with your own pictures proves your 'expertise'

Modules - try using some of the special 'recipe' modules - at the very least use the rating one - it appears in search result.

Headings - make them searchable - Examples:
-What Juicer should I use when making Holiday Cranberry Juice Recipe
-Instructions on how to make Holiday Cranberry Juice Recipe
-Ingredients for Holiday Cranberry Juice Recipe

If you can make them slightly different to incorporate different keywords then that is better too:
-Instructions on how to make Natural Cranberry Juice
-Ingredients for Fresh Cranberry Juice Recipe
They should relate to the main title, but can be slightly different - it gives you more chance of being found in search engines.

Move the Juicer section down - better still use the amazon module and add the relevant juicer, putting in the review.

Alternatives - add a section where you give additional recipe ideas - add raspberries instead of cranberries etc.

Formatting - separate sections with lines - or better still try and create a line with cranberries - it makes the article look much nicer!

    Other ideas:
You note that some of the fruit should be pealed and pithed. Can you create a quick video showing how to do this?

    Sorry if I'm being over-critical....

Wow! Thanks so much for taking the time to provide such a thorough response. This was my first recipe hub and I am not familiar with recipe module.  Will definitely use that next time.

I take all of your suggestions to heart and know that my next one will be way better!  Much appreciation!!
