It's been 5 weeks I have been writing on hubpages, but I don't have any referrals yet. Do you have any referrals or how effectively do you use "referal trackers"? What are your suggestions?
Five weeks is nothing in the wait to get results from the trackers. Even when you have sign ups with them, sometimes the 'sign ups' do not write and publish hubs. Some people are more successful at this than others, I do not know the secret.
Thank you for the reply 2uesday. I haven't shared my referral link with anybody, yet. But I have had 140 referral views. There is no sign up yet. Is there any explanation why I have 140 referral views without sharing my referral link?
I am not sure how that works and the only way I can think it happens is if you have added the HubPages widget to a blog or website and it has brought traffic to you hubs.
This is the piece HubPages has published on using the widget about your hubs -

Your own tracker is embed in the widget, so any views it brings will form part of the tracker stats.
Apart from that, someone else might be able to think of how you got the 140 referral views.
I have neither linked to any hubs using the tracker nor placed backlinks using it. I only created a widget and put in one of my blogs. It has only 5 clicks so far.

Trying to see if I understand this correctly. The trackers only work from outside of HP, correct? So if I have a new affiliate tracker on my profile page or in a hub, it's worthless to me, right? And if I link from one of my hubs to someone else's via a traffic tracker, again, it does me no good,...

Wow, a lot sure has changed over the years, even over the past few months - since I published my last hubs. I'm ready to jump back in, and want to share links to my articles using the referral trackers BUT seem to be doing something wrong. I watched the video from the FAQ page but it is...

It used to be, as I learned and understood it over a couple of years ago, that referral trackers had two uses. One was for when you convince someone to become a hubber. When you email them the link to use to sign up, you include your referral tracker at its correct place in the link, and if the...

I'm having trouble fully grasping how to use referral trackers. I've read a great hub which explains all BUT find myself going round in circles. Where exactly do I paste the URL of a great hub (after clicking on Link to this page)and what do I do with the referral tracker. Pardon my idiot's level...

Like referrals.1. Why insert an _referralcode into the URL. Couldn't you come up with a dynamic insertion solution? If an insertion was required, what's wrong with appending it at the end of the URL as in ?referrer=xyz? or would that make it too easy for hubbers?2. Why do pages like the Referrals...
