I'm not quite following the conversation here, but can I join this thread? Only just noticed it.

I've got as far as pulling on a pair of shorts, but right now I'm sitting here, unshowered and topless, browsing HP forums when I should be doing something useful.   Do I qualify for membership?

Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would do

Those were the days, my friend
              We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
              We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days, my friend
              We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
              We'd fight and never lose
              Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days

Those were the days, my friend
              We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
              We'd fight and never lose
              Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same...

Those were the days, my friend
              We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
              We'd fight and never lose
              Those were the days

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend.

"Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."

"I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes," replies Watson.

"And what do you deduce from that?"

    Watson ponders for a minute.

"Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all-powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?"

Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you idiot!" he says. "Someone stole our tent!"

I don't mind if ppl share their opinions, as long as they are respectful. What do I care if someone loves the right wing or the left? I can choose according to my beliefs and allow them theirs. I am always happy to talk about my belief in God, but thinking I could change someones heart would be a meaningless pursuit. I think it's a good thing to meet ppl where they're at and learn to love them for who they are despite our differences.

What is this thread again? The "Share your life's philosophy thread"? Check.

True slackerdom is an art form. I only clean/organize things enough to keep the place functional. Or, if it's something that I see everyday, I'll clean that for the feeling of luxury afterwards. Pretty much anything beyond that is not going to happen... big_smile
