I have a few questions on the issue of linking of two hubs that belong to two different people.
1. First of all is this linking of two hubs belonging to different people are allowed?
2. If it is allowed then how do I make a request? Can I make a request as comment to the hub like "I found your Hub interesting. I too have a hub on the similar topic and would be glad if you agree to join our hubs together. My Hub title that I want to link with this Hub is #Title of the hub without link#"
3. How do we link two hubs? Say suppose my hub has a link to the other one then whose tracker should it contain, my tracker or the tracker of the Hubber whose Hub I wanna link my hub with?
I would use a links capsule.
How does the Traffic Referral program work?
You can drive traffic to the Hubs of other Hubbers and receive a percentage of the overall impressions. The traffic referral program works the following way:
1. We start with Unique Trackers
Every HubPages account has its own default referral tracker – referred to as a Unique Tracker. You can create additional referral trackers as you organize your link campaigns.
2. Use the Unique Tracker to link to someone’s Hub.
Before you can link, you must be signed in to HubPages. Then, when you’re at the Hub you want to link to, look at the bottom of the page (or click the green share it button). There will be two boxes marked “link to this page” and “email this page”. You can click on these links and choose the Unique Tracker you want to insert in the email, URL or HTML code we will generate for you. From that point, you can either send the mail, or cut and paste the URL link or HTML code and place it wherever you’d like.
3. The Traffic Referrals is guaranteed to be yours for 120 minutes.
If someone clicks on your link to a specific Hub, you are entitled to the traffic referral impressions for 120 minutes. We set this limit because there may be multiple Hubbers referring people to a particular Hub. No other tracker can replace yours during that 120 minute period. This is called the ‘first dibs’ rule.
Thanks for the reply EYEAM4ANARCHY, let me see if I have understood correctly.
If I want to put a link to your (say) hub then I will go your hub take the link to your hub from the bottom of the page of your hub and put it on my hub. That all??? But do I not need to take your permission or anything like that????
I suppose if someone decided they didn't want you linking to them they could tell you to remove it. But you would be driving traffic to their site and it doesn't cost them anything, so I don't see why they would.
Packer, if you want to link to someone's Hub in your Hub, you'd be very welcome. After all, it means more publicity for their Hub. You don't have to ask their permission!
Use the link from the bottom of the page, which will have your tracker in it. I do it quite often - for instance, I might say, "to understand how to market, see Lissie's Hub on Internet Marketing and make "Internet Marketing" a hyperlink.
You were originally asking about exchanging links, though - I link to your Hub and you link to mine. I've never done that but I don't suppose there would be any objection - websites exchange reciprocal links all the time. You could use "contact this writer" on the Hubber's profile to send them an email requesting a link.
Thanks EYEAM4ANARCHY yet again and thanks to Marisa too for the clarification on the issue. I guess now I have fully understood the concept....... .....

I've had a few people sign up under my trackers when I send out emails of my hubs, but I was wondering what some of the rest of you have done as far as setting up a more unique way to have friends and family sign up here at hubpages? For some strange reason I don't think my profile link for sign...

I have tried to condition myself to use the referral tracker links whenever promoting my hubs. Sometimes I forget. Does anyone see any value in using them? Just wondering.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For fellow hubbers who don't know where to get the referral tracker links, at the bottom of each hub, the...

Trying to see if I understand this correctly. The trackers only work from outside of HP, correct? So if I have a new affiliate tracker on my profile page or in a hub, it's worthless to me, right? And if I link from one of my hubs to someone else's via a traffic tracker, again, it does me no good,...

Is there a way to get rid of unwanted traffic sites that attach a link to our hubs without our knowledge? I try to individually monitor my hubs for suspicious traffic and have written two letters to the offender who has sent me 8 visits on one hub this week. Now HubPages has marked my hub with a...

I spent some time searching and couldn't find the answer so...Does including a referral tracker destroy the value of the backlink? If so, is using a referral tracker for the interlinking between your hubs greater than the value the backlink will provide?

Do you still put a tracker link in your hubs?In all of my hubs I have a link in a blue box with a referral tracker with a heading offering to sign up with Hubpages to write articles. Is this still a good idea for new hubs since all the changes?
