"Recent feature and policy updates
*This week we will introduce a new policy (known as Boot Camp) whereby until you have published five simultaneously-Featured Hubs, new Hubs that do not pass the Quality Assessment Process (QAP) will be unpublished rather simply being not Featured (read more on the HubPages Blog)."
Newbies have my sympathies... Hang in there!
I don't get what is new.
If you have five featured hubs hubs that fail QAP will be published but not featured.
Whereas if you don't have five featured hubs, hubs that fail QAP will be published but not featured.
Hubs that break rule will be unpublished in both cases surely? No one should get a free pass for porn etc? No?
?
"Whereas if you don't have five featured hubs, hubs that fail QAP will be published but not featured." is actually "Whereas if you don't have five featured hubs, hubs that fail QAP will be unpublished and not featured.
Ah.
So the change is that those without a Good5 will be unpublished rather than just not featured.
Huh. Bad enough that it takes 20 hubs to get Adsense. How it takes 5 hubs to even get hubs.
Given how my first hubs went, and what is getting rejected now, I doubt I would have made it under this system
The idea is to catch the spammers - unfortunately I guess there will be some good writers caught. However this is pretty standard for many writing sites now - Constant-Content, Wizzley etc. have similar rules where you have to prove your quality before you can get automatic publishing....
I am more concerned about writers who could be good but will have a slight learning curve. I guess they are just collateral damage. IMHO the best way to catch spammers is to detect spam.
Till you reach the 5 featured Hub threshold, your un-featured hubs will go back and get saved as drafts until you improve and are able to get them featured.
I think that's what it means..

Not so bad if they are saved as drafts. It would be a shame if all text was lost forever. Losing it completely would seem mighty unfair to new hubbers who put in real effort, but hit 'publish' prematurely. A draft is something you can work on and improve.
Long story, short for spam writers out there. Don't write crap on HubPages

http://blog.hubpages.com/2013/04/five-f … b-barrier/The new blog post that just went up today really caught my eye. The crux: "Until you have published five simultaneously-Featured Hubs, new Hubs that do not pass the Quality Assessment Process (QAP) will be unpublished rather...

Does it help to un-publish hubs that are not featured?I have been taking the time to un-publish some hubs that have the status of "not featured". Does this help my statistics or is my time better spent just revamping these and upgrading the content?BTW, I love the symbols and the fact...

Should the non featured hubs be unpublished? One of my favorite hub, published 10 months ago, which has received lot of appreciation, comments and views is notified by HP as non featured, due to not satisfying quality standards. My making changes and improvements did not help either. It is still...

I am just curious, all 92 hubs of mine are featured. In your opinion, should one delete (although Featured) any hubs where the score on a particular hub has eventually dropped way down from when it was initially high at one point? Or would it be better to just unpublish and later...

I think the header asks the question. I haven't been here for a couple of years and I just noticed all my hubs have been unpublished. I don't believe it's a quality issue, but I may have missed some kind of format change or something? Or, do they just unpublish if we aren't hubbing...
