Hi there, I was just wondering whether there are any plans to highlight notifications of new followers? In order to find out who has recently followed me I have to go to 'my account', 'activity' and then select 'fan mail' to find out who my recent follower is and to approve/deny the fan mail. It would be more fun/easier to receive a quick notification - like what happens when you receive a new comment. Just a thought
I'm not staff, but FYI - you can adjust settings to get email notifications of new followers as well as fan mail.
Many thanks Marcy! I do receive emails when I get a new follower but just thought that the process to view who has followed you is a bit long-winded when you are logged into your hubpages account. It would be great to be able to see who your new follower is, as soon as you log in, if you could click on a notification. Thought I would share the suggestion.
I see your point - sorry for misunderstanding! Yes - that would be nice. A bit like the notice we get that comments are waiting for us. Good idea!
To answer your question: We have no plans for changing notifications now.
That said, I'll bring up your suggestion in this week's community meeting.
Thank you for bringing my suggestion forward to your meeting Simone:)
My pleasure, Louise Lately!
We came to the collective conclusion that your best bet is to do what Marcy Goodfleisch recommends: set up instant email notifications for new followers. You can do so on this page: https://hubpages.com/my/profile/email
Hope that helps!
It would be nice to see it show up in 'my activity' again
I found that checking the feed using the 'followers' filter works fine for me.
I figured it out a few days ago when I wanted to see who my new followers were, but didn't have fan mail.
Hi rebekahELLE! How do you get to the 'followers' filter? Thanks Louise

One thing I wish HubPages would consider is finding a way to allow readers to sign up to get notifications when a writer publishes a new article without having to become writers themselves. In others words, people can join HubPages just to follow a writer or topic they like, but they are told they...

On our individual feeds next to our profile photo we can see if we have new comments to any of our hubs? Would it be possible to also receive notification here of any answers to our posted questions and Fan Mail awaiting approval.Currently next to the profile there are links for: - Comments - Your...

Isabella pointed out in a comment on one of my recent hubs that she did not receive an email notification that I had published it. (Thanks for the heads up.) Since then, I've asked quite a few people from my fanclub, and NONE of them have gotten ANY email notifications for my hubs in weeks. This is...

When I get notification that someone has become my newest Followers, if he/she has not put anything in Fan Mail I don't know who that person is.If it were possible to organise the list in order of date, i.e., the newest follower at the top of the list, I could then immediately know who the latest...

When using the new hopper we know not who we are assessing. I like that because it gives an objective read. There are times we read a hub and would like to make a few suggestions or we in return would love to receive suggestions from readers. HP knows exactly who hops and whose hubs are rated...

We need a better way to classify and group our followers and the people we are following, here is my suggestion at the very least. For Followers.A way to determine follower loyalty levels, perhaps a simple scoring system only to be seen by you that will tell you how many times a follower has commented...
