Some members have commented in "What is your secret Hub Pages addiction?" in Q&A that answering questions can be more addictive than writing hubs. I was answering the question, when the thought arises. If Webanswers.com could making answering questions its sole money-making strategy, why can't HubPages do the same with Q&A as an add-on to what it's already doing? That will give both HubPages, as well as members, two sources of income. The setup is already in place, so implementing it would not present any problem.
I like the suggestion, WalterPoon!
We certainly all agree that Q&A on HubPages deserves more attention, though it looks like most of our resources this year will be going towards encouraging the creation and improvement of long-format, media-rich Hubs, because we have seen they are more likely to aid a Hubber's success.
That said, I'll bring this up in our next community meeting and see what the team has to say.
Thanks, Simone... double-stream income, what more can one ask? I tried to apply for Webanswers.com but they don't approve applicants from 31 countries, including Malaysia.
Based on my 6 weeks in HubPages, I have been alternating between writing hubs and answering questions. Answering questions is not so mentally demanding, so when I cannot write hubs, I answer questions.
Whoops- my mistake WalterPoon- we already offer monetization through Q&A on HubPages! You can view your Questions' stats on this page: http://hubpages.com/my/questions/stats
Here is our Blog announcement about the monetization of Questions: http://blog.hubpages.com/2012/06/questi … domains-2/
Do I have a terrible memory or what???
Hi Simone, it's great to hear that HubPages already has a feature like WebAnswers.com. Honestly, I don't know how WebAnswers.com works because as a Malaysian, I'm not eligible.
I'm sad to hear that you're leaving but then again, coming and going is a fact of life, otherwise there's no growth. I will visit you at Gigaverse and see if there're any opportunities for retirees, LOL.
Hi Simone, I was just wondering... does it mean that if we do not migrate Questions asked to our subdomain, then we won't be paid? What is the payment structure like?
I think this is a great idea. I write for Webanswers but their payouts are minimal at best and their logistics are not that great.
Probably a good time to do this - I was earning a fair bit with WA but it has been really badly hit with the recent Panda change...although not sure what else HP can really do to make themmore prominent?
Looks like everyone is hit by Panda... WebAnswers don't accept applicants from 31 countries. I don't know about these countries but Malaysia is one of them and I understand why... most Malaysians can hardly write a straight sentence, judging by their comments in my Youtube channel.
Now, if HubPages were to do something like WebAnswers, they may have to do it differently because the WA model is not working either. Just off the cuff, it's all about quality. Assuming answers must be at least 250 words long, or even 300 to qualify. Let's say you need about 1,000 words per page to meet Google's requirement. You will then need at least 3 good answers. The one who raises the question will be responsible to pick the 3 best answers and choose one among them as the very best. Once he or she has done so, an application will be made to HubPages. HubPages will delete all the other answers that were not chosen as the best, as well as the NOINDEX tag, after which it would qualify for payment.
In other words, the present system remains, except that there will be a group of Q&A that qualifies for payment. Just a thought to further refine upon...

For the newbies and experienced Hubpage members, it seems that it takes some work to stay alive on Hubpages. From writing hubs to answering questions to being on the forums, I do admit it is fun either way but it takes a lot of work.I know most experienced hubbers advise not to worry about...

Hi, I wonder why I am suddenly banned from answering questions. Is the ban permanent or temporary? I have written to the HubPages Team but I thought that I may be able to get a faster response here. Is there a guideline on how to answer questions? Honestly, I really don't know which rule I have...

Do you make money from asking and answering questions on Hubpages?
by kallini2010 2 years ago
I have been on HubPages only for two months. I did not think that "Asking & Answering Questions" was a complicated matter. But I have come across a question that if you ask a question and then answer it with your own hub, it is "faking it". My understanding was...
