Every time I try and cut and paste my poetry into a hub it gets hacked into oblivion by the system that inserts advertisements and completely destroys the flow i worked so hard to perfect by obliterating the structure -- most of my lines are too long and get cut in half and nothing looks like it should,  I was planning on hubbing my entire raft of a book of poetry and essays that follows each poem ultimately meant to empower disabilities...  But if my poetry looks like crap because it gets cut to shreds by advertisement space that wont allow me to move it out of the way and place it elsewhere ill hav no choice but to start my own blog with my own hosting space whichis twice the work...  But Id raher become a slave to wordpress than have my talent misrepresented by an automated system that makes my talent look like a lot less than it really is.  My longest lines are 140 charcters in length counting spaces.  Should I put the essays first to get past the advertising space or am i hoping for the hopeless?  Im erious when i say that if this issue cant be resolved ill leave hubpages altogether...  But that would be a crying shame because I have a powerful voice and have a lot to say about a subject few have dared to address properly.  However - Im not going to cut my poetry down to make it fit.  I'd be happy to turn the first piece of poetry into a word or pdf file and send it to the powers that be and get directions on how to bend the system to meet my needs -- if thats impossible...  You may as well kiss my content and all its money making potential goodbye.  Plus Id like some reassurance that  if i dare to give hubpages the first look at the full draft of my book that it wont end up somebody elses property altogether.  II have 5 fingerrs on one hand and spend anywhere from 10-12 hours writing all the content I wish to hub..  But if I do so only to find that somebody else ultimately owns all my hard work I'll fade away like water vapor.  This message alone took me an hour...  Im not afraid of hard work - just the implications of money being made that dioesnt end up in my pocket.  I make less than 6k a year on SSI benefits and am CERTAIN my talent is worth millions more - why?  Because there isnt a cripple alive with the guts to tear off the shroud that covers the truth about living as a disabled individual and turn the truth into hard hitting truthful poetry and prose like I am...  Every rapper alive rhymes about being down to ride till the sun burns out -- the difference between them and me?  I mean and live it every day.

    I AM SPIRITFIRE
thanks to my fans and readers for fanning the flame.  Lets all hope the geeks that make this site what it is can find a solution to my poetic delivery system failure.  If you take nothig more from this post - embrace its end like an old friend -- odds only vanquish those willing to concede  defeat and Impossibility is only truly made possible with your prior conscent.

Try not to choose preformatted, that is what causes the lines to show up like that on your hub. Just choose paragraph.

turn the ads off - as the poetry is clearly not commercial there wouldn't be a problem.
You retain the copyright of all your material at hubpages.
Using a carriage return and capitals a few times makes it easier to read your "powerful voice".

Actually, you can only turn the links off if you Hub has no outgoing links to any commercial sites.  Someone might still add those to a poetry Hub and then you'd have to keep the ads.

I also recently added some poetry and prose to my hubpages and wasnt to happy with the formatting, but I did it because I get better traffic here.

You should be creating your own web page for your works, one in which you have complete control, and you should look into writing communities such as urbis.com

and just enjoy hubpages for what it is, dont sweat the small stuff...you will probably generate many more page views here than anywhere, and perhaps some people may decide to search for your works elesewhere

    best of luck
