I created keyword optimized url at hubpages for SEO purpose: fruitgiftbaskets.hubpages.com
But now I want to replace the keyword with my name which will look like: melina.hubpages.com
is there any option for to do it? or I have to signup for new account? actually I want to use the same email account that I am using right now at hubpages.

You will have to create a new account with a different email address.

You can't change your username or URL. The best option would be to create a new account and request a removal of the old one.

how can i request removal of the old one?
what about the published articles under that username? can I publish them at my new account?
If I remove the current account then will I be able to signup with the same email address?

You would need to use a different email to sign up on the new account if the old account is still in tact. Delete all the hubs from the old account. Wait a few days then publish them on the new account.

If you remove the old account first, you need to find out from HP if you can use the same email address since the account is removed.

I think it's a great idea to create a new account using your real name.  If you are using gmail, you can use the same email address except you add a "+1" to the end of your name, e.g.,  robin@gmail.com would be robin+1@gmail.com.  Both emails will be directed to robin@gmail.com.  I'm not sure if this is the case with other email clients, but you could research it and see.

You can keep your two accounts and leave the content that you already wrote, or if you want to transfer your content, you will need to unpublish your work for at least a week and republish under your new account.  Our duplicate filters will catch your content if you wait less than a week.  Sometimes it takes up to two weeks.  Good luck!  smile

Since you can't change your username your URL will remain as is. To have the username be your real name you would have to create a new account and then move over your hubs from the old account to the new one deleting the hubs from the old account so there is no duplicate warning. Creating a new account and moving your hubs there you lose all your earned accolades and achievements and basically start from scratch. Think about whether you want to start from scratch before doing this. Since you can just edit your existing account to show your real name underneath your username in your profile I don't see the point in creating a new account and deleting the old one. People will know who you are and I don't think it really matters in terms of SEO. Not like your name is a popular keyword.

If it makes it easier, open a second account with the name and URL's you want and then you can either run both accounts or gradually unpublish and transfer the articles over to the new one. I think you need to be careful not to add the old articles to the new account too soon, or they may trip the duplicate filters.
