I have 3 hubs that are editors choice. In my time of being on HubPages last few years, I don't think I have ever had that. How common is editors choice and is there a benefit to it?

Congratulations! If you get 2 more Editor's Choice hubs you will see a new accolade in your profile - Kain has at least 5 hubs selected as Editor's Choice. This is a fairly new thing they are doing now. I think it's a great idea. Just wish the hubs themselves displayed something to let readers know these are EC hubs. As of now no one knows they are EC hubs but us.

Oh, I did not know it was fairly new. Probably why I never seen anything like it when writing on another account a long time ago.

By the way... people can nominate your hubs for Editor's Choice...I am not sure if that means they will be chosen as Editor's Choice hubs or not but at least it will give the staff a heads up to look into them...

I didn't know we could nominate them. That's cool!

Kain, Editor's Choice is something relatively recent by the Hub Pages in their effort to encourage and keep good writers. For some, it's a morale boost. If you reach five Editor's Choice status, an Editor's Choice award will appear on your profile.

Personally, I think it would be more fun for HP to pay us rather than offering these little awards, but I suppose they are better than nothing at all.

By the way, if you find someone's hub particularly engaging an well written, you can show your appreciation by nominating the work for an Editor's Choice award.

Congratulations to you and may you have MANY, MANY more illustrious hubs elected for Editors's Choice.

The hubs they chose from my list were relatively low performing hubs with one exception. While they have received a slight increase in page views, my other hubs have doubled in page views.  I don't know the mechanics behind it, but I am enjoying the results.

Also, I believe you can nominate your own hubs for EC.

My traffic has tripled since last month.  (I opted out of the EC program.)

That's awesome!  How does your current traffic compare to the August slump, or did you experience a slump in August?

Congratulations, Kain 360. I have not seen much benefit, unfortunately. Although traffic overall is better the last two weeks, I don't think it has anything to do with EC hubs. They are still waiting patiently for traffic to come. hmm We all have different experiences, some positive with EC. I think it depends on how they were doing in the first place. One of mine was already doing fine and continues to do so. I just think EC is a nice acknowledgement by HP staff of our good work.
