    Hello,

I read Shadesbreath’s article for help with establishing a hub. I have learning disabilities. This helps so much! I am stuck on step number five. I keep trying. I have deleted my cookies and still no luck.

My problem is that when I got to step five, my screen options is different. It will not let me choose a template.  I have the option for a gray block labeled article. I clicked that button.  I then click the continue button toward the end.  I keep get the same error message:
    Enter a hub unique address

How can I fix this, please?

The title of my article is Can smoking lead to another Prohibition Era?

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind Regards,
    Tiffany April Griffin

Hi Tiffany and Welcome to HubPages!

It sounds like you may be trying to publish a Hub using a URL was already used on HubPages.com.

Each URL can only be used once on the site and they must be unique abstracted from the subdomain.
So if matthewmeyer.hubpages.com/Title-of-Hub is already in use, then tiffanyapril.hubpages.com/Title-of-Hub will not be allowed.
You should be able to change the URL and proceed.

The title you enter is used to generate the URL, so you can change the title and the URL will change as well, or you can edit the URL directly by clicking the "edit" button next to it.

This might be easier to read than that small thumbnail.

You're wrong about there being no duplicate titles.

As explained above, the URL for the Hub which results from the title must be unique abstracted from the subdomain.

Looks like you are already in good hands with the other hubbers who have answered your question.

Good Luck on your Hub. I'm new as well, so I can't really help you at this time. I haven't written a hub yet.

    Hello Mr. Meyer,

Thank you for your visual aid help, time and wishes!  I am sorry for not properly explaining.  The article does not contain HTML.  Neither have I put the pictures in either. Where should I go, please?

    Kind Regards,
    Tiffany April

Unfortunately that article is a few years old and a bit out of date.

Here's a picture of what I think you are trying to do:http://img1.imagehousing.com/99/885b3c9dc5156f97b4db554690b13635.png
I tried this and it worked, obviously I didn't create the hub because I didn't want to take your title, but if you do this and click on the 'Continue' button you should be able to start editing.

If you would like, for example, the health article template rather than the basic article, all you would need to do is click on the light gray button that says 'Health Article Template' and if it goes dark grey then it's been selected.

      Hopefully this worked...?

        Hello,

I try this and it did not go through.  This is the screen I have. Once I click the "Continue" button, it pop out with the error message:

        put in your url

I am slow but not this slow. I am sorry to bother.  I can give my account information if this will help.

        Thank you for your patience,
        Tiffany April

You need to upload that picture to an image hosting site, such as imageshack or tinypic (google them) and then provide us with the link so we can see it.

I'm sorry that HP is being difficult for you sad

      Tiffany,

You select a title and URL before any text, images or other content is added to your Hub.
Please look at the new Hub screen and compare the screen shot.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

I've been here 4 years, and still run into that particular annoying bit with the URL box now and again.

It usually turns out that I've typed it as a normal title, using spaces and punctuation, which are not allowed in the URL box.  (DOH!)
It all has to be run together as if it were a single, long word.
Every time this happens, I have to stop and smack myself upside the head.

    Best wishes.

Hi Welcome To The Hubpages! I get that from time to time as well. Scroll To the very top and type the title of your Hub in the search engine box. The search engine box should look pink with red script, don't space and leave out quotation marks.
