"Hi goatfury,
You have accomplished quite a feat; you have published 25 Featured Hubs! And guess what? You are in the top 3% of Hubbers who have achieved this milestone. Way to go!
Thanks,
HubPages"
You've incorporated the talent of Ernest Hemingway with the fury of a goat.
Make it to 50 Hubs, and you'll be in the top 1% = 585 Hubbers out of 58,597.
Are there really less than 600 Hubbers with more than 50 hubs? Any data to back this?
You can see the number of published users (not necessarily those with featured Hubs) at the bottom of this page:
http://hubpages.com/about/us
When you publish your 50th Hub, you get the auto-response email which says you're in the top 1%. All that means is that most people who start on this site don't do very much.
Writer Fox:
I have way more than 100 hubs, all featured, and I never got a letter...boo hoo!
Keep going, the letters get even stranger: this is what I got after 300 hubs:
"Fun fact: In bowling, 300 is a perfect score - 300 published Hubs are pretty perfect too!"
I can only imagine the kind of letters Patty Inglish got when she published her 2000th hub.
2000 is an excellent landmark. I'd like to make it there within a few years. I find that one hub every day or two is working out great, so maybe 20 hubs a month, or about 250 a year, give or take. I guess that's 7 or 8 years to 2000 hubs, but may as well hunker down for the long haul! It's all about consistency.
Wow 2000?! That is an excellent feat. By the way, great job goatfury!
OMG am I really in the 1%? Wow, that makes my day
Doesn't this mean that you are in the top 3% of Hubbers who have published a minimum of 25 hubs, rather than overall? So not in the top 3% who have published 50 or 100 or 1000 hubs? Do you see what I mean?
Even so, well done!
I'm sure there are lots of Hubbers who have only signed up. Others with 1000s of poor quality hubs, others with hundreds of top-notch hubs, others with...ah, if only we knew!
On the other hand, I know nothing as I have only managed 21.
22nd to be published soon. Maybe. Watch this space but... er, don't hold ya breath!
And that my friend... is why you're in the top 3.
If you had him circa 73, you would have been... what? 10?
If you had him now... you'd have to share him with his grand kids... he's 64.
I think you are star-crossed... unless you really just needed a drummer?
Please don't let me end up with Ringo. Please don't let me end up with Ringo.
I was not yet 10 in 1973.
I certainly don't need a drummer as much as I need Tom Hardy.
In my experience, goats are soft and gentle creatures who climb to great heights...
Well, they climb anyway....
http://cdn2-www.webecoist.momtastic.com … -goats.jpg
babies and miniatures are gentle and fluffy....
http://cdn1.bloguin.com/wp-content/uplo … haring.jpg
Baby goats are simply adorable, possibly even hubworthy.
Ooh, be sure to mention baby miniatures, then. I mean look at these!
http://www.greenmoxie.com/wp/wp-content … -goats.jpg
I'm pretty sure I read about a miniature goat dairy farm, maybe in Washington state somewhere?
There's a park here in Richmond I'd probably write something about:
http://www.maymont.org/
Neat...I'd read that! I was just in Virginia, but I saw no goats. I did bring home a car, though, and saw deer, coyote, antelope, bison, domestic sheep---maybe some domestic goats in South Dakota? But I haven't written those hubs yet. And we got stopped for a cattle drive when we got back to Montana. I did do a starter hub before hand...is it spam to post it? I like little winding chains of connections/coincidences like this, so I'm doing it (please tell me if it's tacky)
http://rockymountainmom.hubpages.com/hu … Road-Ahead
I'm a sucker for little coincidences, so I like it that being in the top 3% led to goats which led to Virginia. I'm a bit loopy, though, from back to school colds brought home by my kids. I think climbing baby goats pushed me over the edge.
Doesn't bother me any. Others might have issues, but "goat" isn't in their name, so whatever.
Maybe hubpages didn't like it, as my hubber score has dropped two points since posting that....I guess I will have to be less tacky.
Eh, I wouldn't pay it *too* much mind. Mine fluctuates for no apparent reasons I can discern. Also, some of my best hubs (I think) have lower scores than others that I don't think are as good.
Thank you...and also, I went and got a bowl of cereal and now it's back up again. So, clearly, late night snacks are correlated in some manner.
I think you have figured this whole thing out. My hubber score was down a bit last night so I made some chocolate chip cookies. It is back up now.
With all the discussions about hub scores, I think you are one of the few to figure out "the rest of the story".
It seems so! Though as for the finer details of 'the rest of the story', it seems cookies are far more efficient than cereal.
I think this is the universe telling me to make the cookie mix I have been saving. Lyme disease spirochetes crave sugar (and I am a walking spirochete ant farm), so maybe that is just what I need to stop being so loopy (if you've seen my posts in forums lately, I think you've seen what I'm talking about---I went from a few posts over two months to SEVERAL in a few days, only some of them coherent, but I've had fun).
Anyhoo--cookies it is.
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is one of the most common killer of dogs down here (yes, I know I am a long way from the Rocky Mountains) but I have guinea fowl to keep my place free of ticks.
They really work. I have tried cookies in the past, with no luck.
You are indeed a long way from the Rocky Mountains, but I don't think doctors really have any kind of geographic handle on tick or tick born disease distributions whatsoever. I contracted Lyme in a state they claim doesn't have it.
Once again, the discussion runs HEAD ON into something I JUST wrote about YESTERDAY. But, through yesterday's lesson, if I post a link to it, or describe it further, my hubber score will drop by approximately three points. I wonder how many cookies it would take to recover from that?
That sounds like very good tick mitigation. Californians in some counties have fence lizards to thank for keeping their tick and lyme populations at bay. I have ducks and chickens, and I'm pretty sure the ducks are not helping at all. But I got mine at work, anyway, and I don't think my chickens would be very good companions in the woods (particularly that day, looking for wolves and getting chased by a moose).
It is time to test the cookies....let's see if I make it to the kitchen....
Though now I am picturing tick cookies and that is making me itch....
Ok, so either we're wrong about cookies (which I have baked and tasted), or I came too close to promoting that hub, which I didn't name or link to. Because before that post, it was first on the list on the all categories explore hubs page (then top for health, top for diseases, and top for Lyme disease, which I asked them to add and they immediately did, which was awesome). It was within the top two or three for most of yesterday and today. But now it doesn't show up at all. All the others that it was at the top with are still there, but mine is completely gone. I was feeling really, really good about it being there. But clearly I jinxed it. At least I have the cookies to keep me warm.
I guess if the universe is trying to tell me something, it is that I need to back off on forums for awhile. My keyboard is getting away from me a bit.
Not sure about the Lyme disease (that is a northern hemisphere kind of problem)but down here RMSF is not called RMSF, of course, it is "doença do carrapatos". We have ticks without mountains.
I have no idea why a hub would disappear from the "explore hubs" pages. I have seen them move around a lot, and even if one of my hubs is on top one day it may not even be on the first page the next, but it is still there somewhere.
You did make the cookies with bananas, right? And, since I live on the Cocoa Coast, I make them with organic fudge. (No Nestles Toll House chips around here.) And, maybe it is a good idea to stay off the forums. The HP staff said it is good to participate, but most of the people with 100 scores do not.
What does that say about the whole thing?
I guess it means it is time to take a break and enjoy those warm cookies.
Hmm, that says quite a bit about the whole thing. Duly noted and thank you.
I was being a bit facetious about the hub disappearing (and it was back on the first page earlier today, just way, way, way down the list). I've had at least one other hub sit up top of the first page for a while like that, but in the midst of joking about correlations, it was pretty crazy that the very hub I joked about being careful about dropped from very first to out of site within moments of posting about it (I'm a sucker for little coincidences and apparently also for concocting implausible pseudo correlations--it's kind of addictive).
No bananas in these cookies, though that sounds good. No nestle either. Or gluten or dairy, also thanks to Lyme disease. I miss cheese and real cookies. And relatively predictable, sanely correlated hub scores. But for now, a break is in order and I will happily enjoy whatever real or fake combinations of the above are available.
And the Q&A section would back that suspicion up.
Congratulations goatfury, I checked out some of your hubs, very fascinating topics you're writing about, I'm quite envious. I just published my 27th hub, and wasn't aware that I was in the top 3%. it's motivating, as juvenile as that sounds.
Thanks for breaking it down for us newbies WF, 50 hubs before the year is out!
Wow, I am hoping to make it out of bootcamp today. I hope to be up to that number before the year is out. Keep it going!!!!
In the immortal words of Rob Schneider, "You can do it!"
Immortal words of... Rob Schneider.... words I never expected to see together in my lifetime.
The good thing about Hubpages is , the older your hubs become to more passive views those are going to receive . So, just keep up the good work
Clearly. I just had some seltzer water and moved into the top 2% of hubbers.
She is the best, with the highest quality Hubs!

There are two newly discovered hubbers who have only posted raw translations by using online translating tool, what they did was merely copy and paste the results without doing any further modifications. From the comments they replied, you can tell they don't really understand much English. Even...

I just read a Hub about apple pie recipes that got a huge amount of comments, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that a food & cooking related hub had such response when mines barely get 3 or 4 comments and are equally good quality articles. What am I doing wrong?!?!

I used to be totally addicted to HP, couldn't wait to log on everyday to see what was happening, who and what was popping in the forums, what interesting hub made HOTD, and of course, how my stats and earnings were progressing. I looked forward to the rush I got from clicking "publish"...

I'm looking for some more quality hubbers to follow. You can feel free to follow me too. I like to write about a little bit of everything.I have a blog, pinterest, twitter and all the usual social sites, but I don't see much in the way of new hubbers to follow. If you think we are into the same...
