I have been trying all week to update my hubs that transferred from Squidoo. some have been easy to edit; however at least 1/2 of my hubs are not editing properly.
Most that have editing issue will not allow me to create the summary or edit the title - I can edit other capsules, some were causing my browser to jump to the top (as was addressed in another forum), but generally I can edit the text or photos, etc. However, if I can't create the summary, then when I click "DONE EDITING" the hub does nothing - it won't go to the finished page; however, when I go back to my account, the hub has today's date as the "CHANGED" date.
OTHER hubs won't allow me to edit any capsule. The summary and title unavailable to edit and when I click edit on any capsule it jumps to the top. Even when I scroll back down the capsule is not available for editing.
I have tried in Mozilla and Chrome. If I go to the Firefox site, it says "congrats you have the latest version." I rebooted my computer earlier his week. It didn't help.
Help appreciated.
Something I found out you can edit 3, (that's the limit per day) after that I have the same problems as you.
Next day I have no trouble at all until I try to do more than three hubs.
No, this happens to me the very first time. The forum says we can only create three NEW hubs, but it doesn't limit editing. I just edited several, but it won't let me change the summary in all of them.
Hi Lynne, is this issue still happening for you? We recently identified a bug with our publish limit, which should be fixed now: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/124707
Yep, still an issue.
It's so weird because it's random (although it seems to be the same hubs everyday that I can't edit). Just closed the browser and reopened just in case that was causing problems, and I still can't edit.
I don't know if it will help, but I started today at the top of my list and went down through the ones I hadn't edited yet. All of the ones I was able to edit, I did. The rest you'll see still have an old date. I got as far as "Christmas Quiz" in the current list (I know it will change soon depending on the hub score)
Sorry to hear that! If you can provide us with the title of some example Hubs experiencing this issue, and a detailed explanation of the issue with the specific Hub, we can look into it. Thanks.
OK . . . here's some examples:
This one won't let me touch a thing: http://lynne-modranski.hubpages.com/hub/safesurfing-2 (I notice that the name got changed in the transfer - it didn't have the 2 on Squidoo)
The preview button doesn't even work on this one: http://lynne-modranski.hubpages.com/hub/momsdevotions5 or this one: http://lynne-modranski.hubpages.com/hub/IAMTHANKFUL
This one let me edit the capsules but not the summary yesterday - today it won't let me do anything:
http://lynne-modranski.hubpages.com/hub/advent01
This one will let me into the capsules, add capsules but won't let me edit the Summary or title: http://lynne-modranski.hubpages.com/hub/CCprayer - also, when I go to DONE PUBLISHING, it changes the edited date, but acts like nothing happens.
Maybe if I reply to this post it will notify you that I'm still in desparate need of help . . .
@ezhang. Thanks that may have been the problem, a bug.
I thought there was a limited, so I can edited as many as I like?
Hi Elsie, the limit is still enforced, but we had an issue where users weren't allowed to "Save Unpublished" when they have hit their publish limit. You should be able to edit as many Hubs as you wish, we're only limiting the ability to "Publish" your Hubs.
ezhang are you saying we can edit as many as possible of the hubs that are already published in a day so we can get them fixed? The publishing has to do with completely new hubs?
If we can only edit three of our already published articles we won't be able to meet the deadline.
Yep, editing is unlimited. I've done a lot more than three a day! In fact, the ones I can't edit are random. I'll edit four or five just fine, then have three or four I can't, then the next two will edit.
No wonder I am having problems! I will only try to update 3 a day now.
Shelly, You can EDIT as many as you want. You can only CREATE 3 NEW hubs.
Keep on editing!
(Except I'm wondering if all of us trying to get this editing done is clogging up servers more than was anticipated and that's what's causing my problems)
Lynne: I have an issue not being able to see the top of the screen where it says: Done Editing/Preview after editing for awhile. I thought perhaps that was because we could only update 3 hubs a day, so it must be a bug. Thanks for the reply, I won't have time to make any new hubs soon. Editing is taking me hours
I'm still having this issue. Haven't said much, cause I thought perhaps it was something they were working on. Should I repost this in the Technical Forum?????
If anyone is looking at my lenses (WOOPS) HUBS from the back end, I've edited almost everything that the tool will let me edit.
If the hub has a changed date, but the summary is not added, it's because it wouldn't let me.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
I am getting discouraged . . .
I've been trying very hard not to compare, but I never waited this long for an answer from Tech Support at Squidoo. Between this and the struggle with Adsense . . . (you should hear a sigh right here)
Could I at least get some acknowledgement that someone who has the power to fix this is at least listening . . .
Lynne, sorry to hear you are getting discouraged.
I had a look at the links you have here, maybe if you give credit to your photos, the hubs will all sort them selves out.
Mine wouldn't update until I did that, now all is working well.
Also try breaking up the capsules there is a lot of words with very little paragraphs making it hard on the eyes for reading.
Another thing, I click the edit button in my Hub Statistics not my profile page, it automatically updates as i'm writing. When I'm finished I just click the "Done Editing" button at the top and the edited hub appears all updated and perfect.
Just a few suggestions that may help, stick with it, it will work out.
Thanks for trying to help, but this is something that is bigger than anything I can do.
Most of the pages I linked I can't begin to credit the photos because the EDIT button won't even work.
I miss a support staff who cares already. ...
This seems to be resolved as of 9/20 - today I can finally edit every page I open.
Thanks!
That's great Lynne, I'm glad it has been sorted out.
Moving forward with your writing. Happy days.

First off, my hubs are transferred from Squidoo, and I am aware of various issues there. I'd already checked and edited hubs after the transition, so this is all post transfer. What I don't understand is why some of my hubs get unfeatured after I've edited them? One even got...

I opted in to Hub Pro and I just had my first edit. Nothing was changed except to remove three of my four amazon capsules and remove links to other websites that I included to provide supporting evidence for my claims. So I'm pretty proud that the editors didn't feel the need to change, or add,...

I am screaming with frustration! Most of my hubs have been unfeatured due to lack of traffic. I write about gardening which no one wants to read about in the winter. Spring is coming so I want to get my hubs featured again, but every time I try to edit them, I either get an error...

My article with the highest traffic is getting an edit. What's the logic behind this this if it's top of the SERPs and pulls in 1800 daily views? Is it for a better user experience or to potentially get more views? I would have though hubs with less views could have done with being edited.

My views dropped 500 per day to about 20, how can I revert the awful changes they made with hubpro?

Last night I went in an edited a capsule so that it would be full width, which is what HP wants everyone to do. The article I edited has been published and featured since 2012. When I went in and edited, however, the editor that read it decided that it was no longer going to be featured. I was told...
