AdSense is still not showing the correct number of views. This has been going on for months. What's up with that? Minor rant concluded. Back to my nap.

The same thing is going on here. I wonder what it is all about.

How do you know they are not showing the correct number of views?

Last month Adsense stats showed I had particularly high earnings(for me) over two days.  These appeared in the you have  'earned today so far'  column but then following day there was a big fat zero!

I did not understand it then and still don't.    I took screenshots throughout that period and still have them but I still can't figure out what was happening.

I am reasonably certain that earnings are being reported correctly, leastwise as to clicks. Impression earnings I'm not so sure and just plain don't know.

Views, however, are a crock. big_smile

Right now, AdSense claims I have 7 views so far today. Both HubPages and Google Analytics vehemently dispute that.

I've just about given up at looking at AdSense for my HubPages report because the reporting problem is getting worse for me. I use Google Analytics now.

      Hey paradigmsearch,

This was reported in another thread recently. I contacted our AdSense rep about it then (9-10 days ago) and she told me that it is likely a reporting bug. I sent her some data that illustrates the problem and am waiting for updates. I'll keep you posted. For now, I recommend using the Ad Requests or Matched Requests columns instead of Pageviews - those should be accurate.

Oops. I missed the 10-days-ago one. Sorry about that. big_smile

I totally didn't know about the Ad Requests, etc. Much better. Thanks!

No worries about missing the other thread! I just wanted to let you know that poking was in progress. smile

Glad the Ad Requests report is helpful, at least.

My Adsense is showing the same thing. Most days it shows 0 with no earnings.

I think there is something up with this. I have according to HPages over 2,500 reads of my hubs. Adsense shows 15 page visits over one month.
    Rubbish!
Ad Requests shows 215 ads and the same amount for the day, the week the month, so how do I know which it is?
It's obvious, Adsense have done something technical, the effect of which is to wipe out our revenue. In  the two and a half years I've had HPs with over 50,000 visitors, Adsense has earned me £2.69.

My last post was 10 days ago and the same thing is going on. It only shows a couple of views.

      Still its not resolved,

Friends... still you are facing the same issue?

I'm afraid there won't be a resolution unless other publishers report this issue to AdSense. I've reported every example of the bug (that I'm aware of) to them, but it's still not widespread enough to warrant attention from their tech team. So, the best course of action you can take now is to ignore the bug and use the Ad Requests / Matched Requests metrics in AdSense instead of Page views. I'm sorry about that, I know it's frustrating. hmm

        Edit: a word

Marina, thanks for pointing this out. I was wondering why my HP page views did not appear in the AdSense stats, but using the "Ad Requests / Matched Requests" they now do. Apparently there is indeed an error with the AdSense page view metrics.
