Hi everybody
I've noticed that ever since I had this incident http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/128409? … ost2708190 my hubs have completely gone down the tank.
I'm not getting views any more, my highest earning hub before literally has zero views this last week. Four of my other high performing hubs have been un-featured and I've even lost followers so I have completely lost interest in doing articles for hub pages. I have been debating the last two weeks trying to decide if I should publish the 30 articles I have written but I think I will publish them elsewhere where people won't edit my work without my permission.
It's been a great two years being here and I'm grateful to have met all of you that have become my friends. But now it's time I leave and explore a new adventure.
I just wanted to say thanks to all you lovely hubbers and those that have been my good friends I bid you farewell and wish you all pleasant writing. To HP staff, thank you for giving me the platform to write and showcasing my work. I shall miss you all.
May God bless you all.
Aneegma.
Aneegma
That is a real shame. It should never have come to this. I wish you well with your new endeavors.
Sally
Aneegma, I'd just like to say that I'm sorry you had such a frustrating experience and to reassure you that we are not penalizing your Hubs or traffic in any way.
We'll be sorry to see you go and I wish you the very best of luck on your future endeavors. Even if you publish your newest articles elsewhere, I encourage you to keep your current Hubs up until you make payout so that your account closure won't cause you to lose any current earnings. Thank you for being a part of HubPages and take care.
sorry to see you go, could you just stay for anoither week? maybe there will be some changes?
Dear Aneegma, I enjoyed your Hubs! You had some good times on the HubPages, Your big Ebay sale was great news. There has been times when I have googled under the topic of Divorce and seen your Hubs high within Googles search engine. You have built a great brand name for yourself! A faithful woman you are indeed, you write form your heart. Please K.I.T.
P.D.P.
I don't think you should leave yet. The text of a few of your Hubs was changed (one of them at least three times, if I remember correctly) and it will take just a little longer for them to regain their rankings, and they probably will. Just give it some more time.
Aneegma,
I think peachpurple's suggestion and prediction are good ideas. Actually, instead of just a week, how about to the end of the month and see what happens?

Aneegma -
As with everyone who has posted, I hope you'll consider watching things for a while before making a decision on your future here. If you wait a month or two (even more) that extra time will allow traffic to return to stable numbers. As Writer Fox said, it's too early to know what that might show.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, and for your contributions here. We would miss you if you leave the site! I think you brought some important feedback to everyone's attention, and I know people listened to you.
Awww, Aneegma, sad news indeed, especially under the circumstances. As I've said before, you are one of the sweet ones, really hate to see you leave like this. As I'm reading the posts here, I recall when your dog passed away and how we all came to comfort you in the forum. Aside from writing, that's what HP community is all about and I hope you reconsider. But seeing things from your point of view, I understand and accept your position. I wish you success and peace in your writing endeavors. So sorry this happened to you and sorry to lose another great hubber.
Aww that is one of the hardest moments of my life losing my best friend and yes I do remember you guys came through for me. Thank you for reminding that!! Now I feel silly
Thank you!
Aneegma, I suggest that you publish the 30 new articles elsewhere but leave the ones you have here for a while until you have the experience elsewhere. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.
Hi Aneegma, I'm sorry to hear about your story with HP.
I had some worries about my hubs not earning much 2 years ago and went and put hubs on my own new blog. It didn't earn more than 20c per month, due to me lacking self-motivation (this is where the community comes in) and also I didn't publish articles around one topic. Then, after I learnt my lesson the hard way, I came back to HP and it really was so much easier!
The moral of my story is that maybe going somewhere else for a change and to see what happens is worth it, but I'd leave as many hubs as you can up here, just in case things change.
I was kicking myself after returning 2 years later to find the hubs I'd left that originally weren't doing well were actually earning a decent income (ie monthly payout - that's how I noticed, there were earnings in Paypal!) and the ones I'd taken away had to start again from square one....and will have to wait more years before they produce any income.
PS - I had around the same hubs as you when I left (eg 20) and when I came back and made it to 50, I saw quite a difference, traffic wise. Your hubs are good. You'd need a lot more of them....
One of my biggest mistakes was to delete about 20 of my Hubs because I wanted to publish them elsewhere! I should have left them right where they were on HP.
I would hang in here a while longer, even though you are discouraged at this point.
I just saw this and I'm shocked, though not surprised. Please don't go Aneegma, at least not until the end of the month. (Down on blended knee) you are one of the good ones and would be missed terribly. By almeans try elsewhere but don't leave here completely, add a few of your 30 new articles here and a few elsewhere and see what happened. Traffic goes up and down here. I was surprised that mine is almost double the norm this month. I know yours will improve again. I experimented with my own website and get absolutely no traffic there so I'm staying here. At least make sure you give me some way of contacting you so I can stay in touch, otherwise I'll take you over my knee and give you a good shanking. it is sad what happened to you has resulted in this decision.
"shanking", smanking........that should be "spanking...
You should be very flattered, Aneegma. Jodah doesn't get down on blended knee for everyone.
I suggest you stick around and see how long it takes Jodah to get back on his feet. Can't be easy with a blended knee.
Haha, it isn't easy to get back on my feet LTM. I think the arthritis set is acting up...especially with all the rain around from that Cyclone Marcia. Now I know why I don't get down on bended knee for everyone.
Hi Jodah. I just took a break from my lengthy project for a quick look at what's happening in the forums and enjoyed a chuckle at your typos. I thought perhaps a 'blended' knee was essential when conducting a 'shanking'. I needed a laugh, so thanks.
On the subject of Cyclone Marcia, do you think it is just a coincidence they chose that name at a time when Marcia from the Brady Bunch is on Australian tv? (Don't know if she still is, but I saw her on an early episode of the 'I'm a Celebrity ...' show. Haven't watched it lately though.) It would be great if someone with a sense of humour chose it!
Hope your garden was happy for the extra rain. Am I right in thinking you are further inland and therefore missed the direct path of the cyclone? When we lived in Qld, a cyclone passed over one of our houses and made the roof look like the opera house. The metal sheets just peeled up and bent over. Fortunately the house was empty at the time. Tenants had moved out just a week earlier.
I watched part of the first or second episode of "i'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!" and did not realise that was Marcia. My God..that sure is a coincidence (or not). Glad my typo gave you a laugh Yes, fortunately we are far enough inland just to get some heavy rain but no damaging winds. Many places are fortunate it weakened quickly. It would certainly not be my idea of fun to lose a roof.
Flattered is an understatement.. I am so touched! And John knows he can borrow my knees any time if he still prefers to be on blended knees...!
Hi Aneegma, Nice to see you again. I haven't been very active here for a few months. I noticed, about two months ago that you said somebody tampered with your hubs. I don't understand why anyone would do that. I hate that that has happened to you. This world has grown totally unethical. I would hate to see you go. I'm with Jodah. My vote is for you to stay!
Hi Everybody!
Thank you so much for your responses! I didn't realize how many people acyually knew me here! But thank you all. I won't be deleting the current hubs, they all remain. I guess I was just going through a very bad patch and this whole HP thing just threw me off the ledge. Okay if I mean that much to you guys, guess I'll stay.. on the condition I get a cake from somebody!!!
Thanks guys, appreciate all of you loads!
That really is good news, I am so glad you have decided to stay. If I lived closer, your would get your cake;)
Wow, that's great news. I was so upset I wrote a hub highlighting your situation. When I saw all your forums were gone yesterday I thought I was too late. There's a cyclone and heavy rain hitting here, but I'll get that cake in the oven while we still have power....oh wait, silly me..I have a gas oven
Glad you had a change of heart. Checked your forums yesterday and they were gone. thought I was too late. A cyclone is hitting us with heavy rain but I'll put a cake in the oven before we lose power...oops silly me..I have a gas oven. I was upset you were leaving and even wrote a hub about your situation.
sorry about the double post...I am having HP or computer problems this morning, the first one didn't show up until I wrote the seond...and there they both were. My comments on hubs aren't showing up immediately either.
Awww I'm sorry I upset you now I'm really crying
You're a star John. Thanks for standing by me. I owe you one. How about drinks on me this whole weekend eh?"
Here ya' go Aneegma. You really heated up the forums and brought awareness to an important situation. Hang in there and write elsewhere if you wish, but keep some material here.
♥
OMG YUUMMMMYYYY!!! I AM SO GONNA DEVOUR THIS BAD GIRL!!!
Thank you so much.. looks absolutely scrumptious
You have to stay now, Aneegma. Peg's home made cake sealed the deal.
Good work, Peg!
It's all about the chocolate cake with sprinkles Aneegma!
Wow, the cakes keep coming. Aneegma will need help to eat them. Mine didn't work out unfortunately...how about scrambled egg, Aneegma, I can cook that
oooohhhh chocolate sprinkles my favourite!!!!
They say love makes the world go round. I disagree. Cake does!!!
Aneegma, I'm sorry our paths haven't crossed before this. Since you have decided to stay, I'll remedy that right now. Cake, I eat it but have never baked one, so I'll spare you the misery. I'm sticking around. I don't know what life would be like without my fellow hubbers and my $10 each month.

Are we allowed to republish our articles elsewhere and keep the original hubs here in the mean time?

Thinking the last hub challenge hubs will be my last set of hubs on HP. I really can't see the return on investment for the time I've put into HP and don't have the patience or time it takes to wait a year or more down the line to start seeing it. I've got several other irons in the fire that...

So far, thanks to the Idle hubs "feature", I have had my second month in a row where I haven't earned $50 through the HP Ad program... and these are the only 2 times, out of the history of me using HP Ads, that I haven't reached the $50 mark.Weren't the idle hubs supposed to help...

Since I finished the apprenticeship, and after umpteen updates and changes made on HP, my traffic has never picked up. I can't remember the last time I saw any more than 40 views a day. My average at the moment is more like 30. The articles I worked long and hard to produce, sit there doing nothing...

My search of Q/A and the forums didn't turn up much that wasn't old or inadequately answered, so thought I'd stir the soup again and see what floats up. The answers to my questions could be applicable to all hubs, but, in particular, I'm thinking of moving (re-)idled hubs off of HP, not ones still...

The focus of HP has turned to the niche sites. Editing services will only be used on hubs being considered for the several new niche domains for the foreseeable future. The niche topics chosen for the next year or so seem to be pets, tattoos, piercings, beauty, food, and beverage. If we don't write...
