I have searched the learning center to no avail. I cannot find whether or not there is a preferred protocol within HP for numerals.
Do I say, "There are 4 sets of..." or, "There are four sets of...?"
Are there 250 of something, or two hundred fifty?
In articles I always spell out numbers under 10 and after that use digits.
If I were writing dialogue, I'd write the number in full, so, "Yeah, there were at least two hundred and fifty cheeses rolling down that hill."
With percentages. it's usually written 100 percent. Not 100%
This is exactly what I was going to say, including the part about percentages.
Also, when using a number at the beginning of a sentence, the general rule of thumb is to spell it out.
There are some other nitpicky exceptions, but those are generally the best practices.
We aren't strict about how you prefer to represent numbers, but what Editors look for most is consistency. So if you write "ten" out in the beginning of your article, don't switch to "10" later on in the same article. Hope that makes sense.

Hi, I have my first article about to go up, but I've decided I want to have a picture of myself on all my hubs rather than the generic person outline. I've gone to my profile to try to upload a photo of myself, but can't seem to see where I can actually upload. Anybody out there able to...
