Thanks to everybody who commented on Cedar Point! I am trying to decide on a topic for #8 now. I think the last one might have gone a bit too quickly, so looking to do "more."
Ok, here's number five!

Janetta, that one made me laugh like crazy! I feel bad for any new hubbers who run into it though!
LOL and you and I are both new!
The thing is that cynical or not, it does give people a more realistic idea of what is going on here on Hubpages. And not everybody around here is "nice."
How much research are you guys doing on your hubs? I'm researching like crazy for this next one. Subject matter might surprise y'all
Everyone should read Everyday Miracles hub, http://hubpages.com/hub/Cedar-Point---- … ement-Park . It is very well written and very informative.
My latest hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/marriageconcept
Sorry if I've not been too active in replying to your hubs or this thread today; I'm a busy alien.
I'll be back reading them riiiiiiiiiiight....now.
lxxy
I liked that hub, lxxy. I found it very well written, interesting, and considerate (or rather, considered. Is that the right word?). A good read!
EM today has shared with us her memories of one truly groovy theme park...
http://hubpages.com/hub/Cedar-Point---- … ement-Park
Cedar Point rox0rz mah sox0rz, even though I hate roller coasters. It's just an awesome, beautiful place.
Janetta has talked about stress..
http://hubpages.com/hub/Stressfulsituations
And I shared with her the secret: there is no such thing as stress.
She also made me laugh in...

Awesome stuff!
Onwards, to more.
I think I am managing one close-to-flagship-style hub a day:
http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Amityville-Horror
I only fell slightly short with this particular hub, but I'm reasonably happy with it! I was thinking of doing Lizzie Borden next!
Oh my, it is not easy keeping up with all these hubs and reading andwriting and commenting and posting.....*she's crashing--get the paddles* Whoa, ok. I can do it
Anyhoo..just read Ixxy latesthttp://hubpages.com/hub/marriageconcept
Very Good!! I loved it! Now I am off to check out EM's. She's gonna keep me busy, she's been churnin' em out left and right!!
Here's my newest....
http://hubpages.com/hub/A-Little-Insight
hope you like it. It's number six
Janetta, you crack me up! I had a serious visual of the bed incident, though I couldn't quite get the visual on the shocking one. I think I was too busy thinking "oh no! What if Dinky does that?"
K guys, I'm about to eat. I also take care of a senior citizen. And while I can leave him alone most of the day....I guess the key is, most of the day.
Free rent don't come cheap.
Wub,

I read the most amazing hub. It is by maggs224 http://hubpages.com/hub/Real-Christmas-Presents please read it I really think you will enjoy it.

I just read Janetta's hub, http://hubpages.com/hub/A-Little-Insight I really liked it.
I have just finished reading EM's latest post in the challenge
http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Amityville-Horror
it is well worth a look
EM--loved your Amityville hub!! made me want to watch the movie http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Amityville-Horror
Thank you, Ladies. Do you think I should try Lizzie Borden?
I.E. I was thinking about doing a series on "mysterious" murders.
ooo...yes! I like that story too! I've watched the TrueCrime version so many times I know most of it by heart I think. definitely cool hub idea.
what's the song? Lizzie Borden found an axe, killed her parents with forty whacks??
Lizzie Borden took an ax and gave her mother forty whacks and when she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.
Is anybody else feeling like they flat out *can't* do this? I'm so frustrated right now I want to *scream!*. The keyword research thing is confusing the socks off me and all of the topics I'm actually interested in seem to come in fairly low in terms of search volume, but high in competition (go figure). In short, I'm discovering that I can't figure out how to make money at this, and am beginning to wonder if it's worth it to keep going.
Seriously, seriously need some encouragement here!
Hey, EM, I know what you mean about keywords. I'm so frustrated with them too but I've never worried about keywords and I get a google payout about 3 times per year. I like to write about what is on my mind so I'm thinking I just may not worry so much about keywords. I mean, yeah, I'd love to make a ton of money off this challenge but more importantly I just want to write. I would say just write!
Ok *popping fingers and stretching neck* I'm gonna try to encourage you. I say *try* here because we are on two different paths with the challenge thing so I don't have the same concerns as you, bnut here goes... YOU CAN DO IT!!! I HAVE FAITH THAT YOU WILL PUT OUT 100 EXCELLENT QUALITY HUBS THAT, ALTHOUGH YOU MAY NOT BE SO SURE NOW, WILL NET YOU SOME DECENT MONEY. I know you can do it, EM. You're going to have a little bit of writer's block or keyword issues, or migraines by the time the thirty days is up. But remember one very important thing-- You have THIRTY days! You don't have to do it ALL today. As long as you write three to four hubs a day, you'll be fine. And you can always go back and edit. Don't worry about making it fit into a specific keyword at first, write a hub you are pleased with and then see if you can fit in some better keywords. This challenge is, in all actuality, about making money writing online, but it is also for fun. F U N. Just try not to stress too much and it is ok to take a break now and then Whew *wiping brow* hope that helps

Debbie, do you have analytics on Bedtyme Tales? Or any kind of stats program? If so, I would love to know what the keywords are that you're using and getting hits to your site, whether or not it's keying into your stories or into your title or the subject matter (inasmuch as there is one -- Children's stories).
How long has the site been open?
Hi EM, yes I do have google analtyics on my site. I just put it back up there when I started hubpages. I had it on there for awhile but changed my site and forgot to add it back in. I am in my analytics page right now.
easter bunny stories
bed tyme tales
easter bunny story
stories about the environment
autumn stories
princess anna
racum
lil rebel stories
hillbilly bob
cows rule
pirate pete
racum animal
santa got stuck in the chimney
the lonely scarecrow
the troll family halloween
Those were the top searches on my site for the past month. Take for instance my story, Pirate Pete. This is the meta tags I have for it:
<head>
<title>Summer - Pirate Pete</title>
<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="all">
<META NAME="title" CONTENT="Pirate Pete">
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="What happened to Pirate Pete's treasure chest?">
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="treasure chest, treasure, Pirate Pete, pirate, pirate ship, ship">
<META NAME="author" CONTENT="Debbie Williamson">
<META NAME="reply-to" CONTENT="bedtymetales@hotmail.com">
<META NAME="copyright" CONTENT="Bed Tyme Tales - 2005">
<META NAME="rating" CONTENT="Safe For Kids">
<META NAME="generator" CONTENT="The Meta Maker Wizard - © Pixel Persuasion">
</head>
It seems that people do search for the title of my story as well as for the keywords.
I hope this helps.
LOL Janetta, thanks!
So far I have written... 0... today and it's almost 3 pm.
Still working on Lizzie Borden. The problem with the historical hubs is that they can either be insanely lone or horribly short
High guys..
Here's number 4: http://hubpages.com/hub/drugculture
Be reading your Hubs soon!
lxxy
Oh and my site has been on the internet in different forms for the past 10 years.
It's probably the 10 years helping you out more than anything else, especially considering you're getting searches for the site title (not much competition there!).
It's not that I'm looking for a quick and easy way to get this done -- I'm just looking for a reasonable time frame and frustrated trying to find a niche that works for me (without boring me to death).
I know I can do it! I can do it with the subjects I love (even if I have to write a book instead of articles lol). I don't know why I'm feeling so un-encouraged lately!
What kind of marketing do you do for the site, Debbie? Anything?
EM I take it you're looking through keyword stuff? Google trends etc? There are sites out there that gather the keyword trend stuff up and produce it in an easy to read format.
And chin up. You're probably just feeling the effects of working so hard on your hubs. It's not an easy task you guys have decided on. Quality hubs take some thinking about ... and that's just the writing. Then you've got to present it ...
The funny thing is I don't do any marketing except I have a blog that i post to several different sites once a day - it is "Story of the Day" and it has a link to one of my stories in it.
I don't care about trends... I want ever green content. I'm using the Adwords tool and I'm not getting great results is all. I figure I've got to be doing something wrong.
Heh, can somebody help me with a search? I need to combine two search terms into one search. I need results that meet *both* criteria and I can't get them in Google for some reason.
And yes I definitely think the 10 years being on the internet has helped. However, not all of my stories have been on the internet that long. There was about 3 years of that 10 that I didn't write anything and now what I do is write 10 new stories per month and post them to my site. I do have some pretty good backlinks out there and that has helped brought some traffic. I do have lists all down the left hand side of my pages that brings me traffic too, like new stories for May and I list the ten new stories I posted. I do currently have 713 stories on my site.
It's possible that you've got something viral going on. I'm going to check your domain really quick. Hope you don't mind. I'll share the info
Darnit, I can't get the right url.... Oh well...
You've got over 100 backlinks though, which is good
I got it off your profile You've got close to 2000 backlinks. I have 500 on http://www.motherhoodmiracle.com but there's not much there right now lol Too bad, the site is worth $90
Oh... I just figured out what you thought I meant lol
I meant I couldn't get to the url to display the results to you!
Oh, sorry, blonde moment there for me!!!! Yeah, I know I have a lot of backlinks. I think that helps.
Could do with some feedback on this one, since it took me ALL DAY lol
http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Lizzie-Borden-Murders
mmmmmmmmm back links!

I read your hub, Mr Voodoo, very interesting!!!
Interesting, Mrvoodoo. My grandmother dated a clockmaker after my grandfather died (she robbed the cradle, he was twenty years younger than her! LOL) and I got kind of interested in how it all works then. Cool stuff!
I tweeted it for you too
Really? Thanks, good on ya granny, hopefully in twenty/thirty years time I'll be that lucky.
Although your hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Lizzie-Borden-Murders about the Lizzie Borden murders has put me off the idea of having kids. Instead I think after reading Ixxys hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/drugculture on drug culture I'll probably remain a sofa zombie til the day I die.
Oh guys, I am exhausted. Spent all day hubbing--reading and writing and posting and commenting...I'm pooped!! :p
I just got number eight put up and I'm not very happy with it, would like to add more to it but I wanted to get it done before this storme rolled in. Eh. I will have to edit later--I need a hub break Bye all!!
I don't blame you, Janetta! I can't remember, are you doing 100 or 30?
mmmmmmmmm a large punnet of fresh strawberries to soothe the emotional pain, I had to go and light a stick of incense to remember my Nan by after reading this hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Quilt-I-Never-Got by Dwilliamson.
More than anything I'm sharing this because I think y'all will enjoy it:

This hub encouraged me today. I *know* it's good. In fact, I know it's terrific. I spent nearly six hours researching and writing it and I'm over the moon happy with it
EM, that was a really good hub. Your hard work paid off.
Sorry to be soooo quiet, (EM knows what's going on in my life...and trust me, I'm trying hard...it's hard work to juggle the 3100 conspiracy and this challenge!)
Here's my 5th entry: http://hubpages.com/hub/genderosity
And I'll be commenting on your stuff soon...
Luv,

I just updated my HubPages profile a couple days ago and in my profile linked to some of my favorite hub topics that I wrote about. Is this bad to do this since on the profile page we have those same hubs randomly come up below? I just don't want overkill but like the thought that I've got my...

Have you ever used a Poll capsule in one of your hubs?My first time was today, in four new hubs which make "A Hitchhiking Saga." Fun way to invite participation from readers!Where have you put the code outside Hubpages to bring traffic to your hub?

It is important to actually read the hub you are commenting on. It seems that every time I publish a hub I get at least one comment saying something that proves they didn't read the hub. In the future I will be deleting these comments even though they are well intentioned. It will better for your...

Delete both comments and ignore her. Some people have no idea how to behave. I agree with you, Tess, there's no need to respond to every comment, every follow, unless there's a reason to.

MG Singh wrote a hub on gun control in the U.S. There are a lot of comments on it. I also wrote a comment, with my opinion (which had its origins in a research paper I wrote for a public health class a couple of years ago).Jackburton had already written a comment that was almost a hub in itself....

What are the potentially cons of not using a comment box?I'm tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I'm tired of getting rude comments. I'm tired of dealing with it basically. I want to help people, but answering the same question over and over again or having to defend myself...
