Could this sudden increase in traffic be as a result of the holiday season or have I done something awesome that eventually caused it? It jumped from 22 views per day to 85 views today. I'm feeling delighted right now.

Go to Analytics and see if a single source like FB, Pinterest, etc. Could be your lucky day or even week. smile

The sudden jump in traffic is from the search engine, particularly Google.

If it's seasonal and once it passes, you need to get that hub off the hubpages.com/holiday URL and onto a network site, year-round category. Just a thought. And congrats! smile

One of the articles I wrote recently is getting more search traffic than all of my others combined. It is a nice feeling.

      Traffic largely from Google.

It certainly demonstrates the power of long tail keywords.

I have had some pretty obscure hubs pop when thy became google front page for their search terms. It can happen quite suddenly.

Quite interesting to see an article, not on one of the vertical sites getting hits from Google.
Thank you for appreciating my writing.

Those two red arrows sure look good, don't they?

I have a Christmas hub that was showing them, as it went from 2 or 3 to 250.  Unfortunately, when Christmas is gone it will become two BLUE arrows as it drops back to 2 or 3. big_smile

Sadly, articles on the main site (HubPages) no matter the amount of traffic they don’t return good earnings as one may expect. I hope one day it’ll get moved to a vertical site.

I discovered that as well. You are dead bang right on that. I decided to heck with it and moved them all to my website.

You may request one every couple of weeks to be moved.  I've found that it has always happened, although sometimes with an edit or even a request that I change some things.

I think the holidays may be playing a part in your sudden success. This is a time of year for giving and showing appreciation, so lots of people may be wondering what to write on a card to the people who take care of their children.

It will be interesting to see what happens after the holidays. The fact that most of you traffic is coming from Google is certainly a good sign.
