Hubbers are paid by Google, Kontera, Amazon, and/or eBay (depending on whether they have Google ads and/or Kontera ads, and on whether they become activite Amazon or eBay affiliates.
Each company has its own terms with regard to payment, and each pays the Hubber on its own and independent of HubPages. Payment information is put on file when a Hubber signs up with an affiliate. For example, Google either mails a check after earnings reach $100 in any month, or else they'll electronically deposit the earnings into the Hubber's bank account of choice.

I understand it difficult times but what good will deleting hubs do? I see some of the most prolific hubbers deleting heaps of hubs. Have we lost the hope of a hubpages bounce back?

As per my expectation most of our hubbers are working part time here. During their spare time they write hubs but have you ever thought to post hubs full time and earn unlimited money ( because of your quality hubs) because here you do not have any boss to give you order.I do not have such plan yet...
