I have a slight problem. I write my stuff on the hubs. I don't write it on another writer program and then transfer it to here. How do I copy my hubs to another program for safe keeping? I have MS Word 2000 and the basic editors. What I would like to do is copy them as they are published here.
I don't know if I am king myself clear on this.
Can anyone tell me how to do this and in layman's terms?
Can't you just select copy, and then paste? You do know that you can copy all the material, and then paste it into another program. Is that what you mean?
I think LG wants all formats(incl layout) to remain the same which seems not possible via usual copy/paste!
Ah! Sorry Lady, I tried. You need lxxy or GeneriqueMedia. I'd pm them. They are awesome and extremely computer savoy! GM would be honored to help you out. He is just that kind of person.
I know you tried and it is very much appreciated.
*blush* Shhhh RK, you're not supposed to feed my ego.
But yes, I never have trouble giving people tips.
My tip is simple:
File-->Save As-->HTML
Just keep a locally stored copy of your Hub as an HTML file and you'll always have the bulk of the media stored, except for any vids. You'll want to keep a tab on those some place else, or edit the HTML document and place them in yourself.
Thank you all so very much for your help.
I know that I can copy and paste, but when you do that for the Word programs they do it code or something like that.
Is there a certain format I must copy and paste to save them in to work if I ever lost a hub on here?
You could use the HP format for print function and print them to a PDF file?
Have you tried putting them on Blogger on an unpublished Blog?
That is how I write and edit my articles for another site. So long as you don't click, "Publish," they remain in your private domain.
I only use it as a very temporary facility but don't see why it couldn't work as a long term one.
Being a loyal MSN Groups user and put out by them last year and lost just about everything, I would rather it be on my computer or on CD.
Hey, can you take one of your hubs and put it on another blog, without getting into trouble with hubpages?

So .... I was just flagged for a hub I wrote last night. It was flagged as a duplicate.I didn't even cite anything in this hub. I quoted a bunch of stuff in my Anaconda piece and none of it was flagged as duplicate, so someone must have copied and pasted my new hub. Everything on...

I've gone to many sites where the second you try to highlight text and then right click you get a little error pop up that says, "Sorry this function is disabled"... why do they do that? To keep people from copying their text (or other content) and pasting it somewhere else as their...
