Have a look at what a bit of clever writing can do to the price of an ordinary old washing machine for sale on Trade Me, a New Zealand auction site.
This is HILARIOUS!
Especially the last line.
And the comments.
This person should be at hubPages.

Haha, good one! I see it's up to 200-plus whatever the monetary unit is in New Zealand (the NZ pound?).
He's a smart boy, he's got the t-shirts going at a NZ t-shirt website too!
all the official ‘Scary Washing Machine’ t-shirts at http://www.mrvintage.co.nz/results.html?q=scary – they do all the dinosaur ones; Plesiosaur, Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, and Triceratops as well as the Shark and Undertaker tee! Some of them are on special still as well... Plus you should definitely read the descriptions that mikew4 wrote for them, hilarious.
Its a flipping genius piece of viral marketing - the bottom of the comments tells me that he has got the local prime time TV news involved (Mark Sainsbury) - they do a weird/funny spot frequently. The bid is currently NZ$275 - the washine machine is worth - at best - if you could find a student about NZ$80 - hes doing bloody well!
In fact the t-shirt http://www.trademe.co.nz/Art/Drawings/a … 875291.htm is worth more...
Thanks, Eric for biggest laugh of the day. Now that's creative marketing.

What is the silliest thing you have accidentally run through the washing machine?I recently washed a thick paperback book - didn't hurt the laundry, but some pages joined in a kind of paper mache. It was a good book, too.

Would you buy front loading or top loading washing machine?Front loading claimed to give you a cleaner wash, but it takes ages to wash. Top loading uses more water but washed faster.

What's the easiest way to get a washing machine up a flight of stairs? My washing machine broke, and a friend is lending me their "spare one" (I don't know why you'd have a spare one), but I live in a first floor flat, and I have no idea how we are going to get mine out, and there's in!
