In order to use the URL Tracker do you have to have affiliates in order to get credit for posting?
Have joined adsense but still pending and want to know do you need these affiliates first before using the URL Tracker in order to get paid for it?

You can just use it, even before your Adsense and other affiliate applications have been accepted.

But you won't make any earnings until they are approved.

I have written a hub on How HubPage Tracking Works.

URL trackers and affiliate code don't correlate to each other necessarily.

URL trackers are how you track traffic referrals, affiliate codes are for ad earning.

URL Trackers and Affiliate Programs are different. The URL Trackers generates you a share of traffic that you generate for another hub and / or people joing hubpages. Whereas, the affliate programs are for placing advertisements on your webpages; such as, google ads via google adsense account, amazon, ebay, and etcetra. My understanding is that URL Trackers are paid through Google Adsense account, so you do need to sign-up for at least the Google Affliate program. Google is one of the simpler Affliates to sign-up for and set-up an account. The link below is to a hubpages that gives a great overview and explains how to use URL Trackers.
