Have you ever narrowly escaped an incident, barely preserving your life?  Have you ever almost been seriously injured?  I sound like an ambulance chaser... You know what I mean... Let's discuss.  I want to hear some good ones.

Once upon a time when I was a teenager (14) I use to hitchike back and forth along a 2 mile stretch of highway for about 6 mos (till I moved) and 2 bodies of young girls were found alongside that highway about 2 yrs later. I don't know if I ever met the guy but autopsies showed the ages of them girls as 16 and died about the time I use to hitchike back and forth on that stretch of highway. hmm

Yeah, I definitely was lucky. smile And I got rid of the bikes a few years later, not because of this, there were other unrelated reasons like marriage and kids smile

Had a serious skiing accident, and by the time the ambulance arrived, I had no vital signs.  I was brought to the hospital, and I did wake up -- I was so cold that my body went into hibernation mode.  Good thing I picked one of the coldest days to go skiing... tongue

I fell out of a moving car and had to be airlifted to Tampa General Hospital when I was 17. I was out for 4 days, but in my mind I still went to school, and had things happen. It was confusing when I woke up in the back seat of friend of family's car on the way back from the hospital. Reality was kind of twisted for a couple of weeks after that. But now I'm all normal......or am I? muahahahahahaha!

*edit* I can still feel where the back of my head cracked open

And no I never saw no bright light.

Well, I almost got run over in England because I was looking the wrong way when crossing the road. I also almost got run over by a truck in New York City. Other than that, does surviving cancer count?

I've "cheated Death" many times, a truth for just about any pro rodeo rider (if he's still alive, anyway).  Don't really think of it as cheating, though--just telling Death to back off, not my time yet.  So far.

Uninvited, surviving cancer most DEFINITELY counts.

The only bull rider I ever knew was killed in the early 90's.  It is always a shock, because y'all seem so strong.  Those animals are serious.

Well, I had a lousy car crash and I bumped my head and lost consciouse.

My ex was in the passenger seat, she says I stopped breathing for a few seconds,, but then I GASPED and started breathing again.

Does that count as cheating death?

I was just out of high school and working in admissions at a our local hospital in the emergency department. My hours were on the day shift most of the time except to cover for sick calls or vacations on other shifts. I had made plans with several school friends to go out on one friday night but got a call from the hospital to cover a shift that night and I accepted the overtime. Midway through the night, we got a call of an ambulance arriving with several trauma patients involved in an auto accident. A 18 wheeler ran a red light and cut a van in half going through the intersection. The victims who died were three of my friends, who I was suppose to be with that night.

Nelle, it still does to this day. I actually believe it was that very night that I decided to go into the healthcare profession and be a nurse. I watched how the staff consoled the families when they arrived at the ER and immediately knew I wanted to be part of that profession.

In car accidents, more than once. I believe God saved me because every time I had severe accident, nothing happened to me at all, not even minor injuries and I used to walk out of the car. After seeing the car no one believed nothing happened to me. The people at the spot looked like they can't believe their eyes upon seeing me alive.

In my school days I was taking a bus for school. I am boarding from backdoor of the bus at that same time bus driver drove the bus at so much speed that I don't have time to board properly in the bus and I collided with another bus which is already on the bus stop . I found that I am between the two buses one bus is stood and another bus in which I am taking he hit me but thanks to GOD I didn't got injured and not a single mark of accident.

Whenever I remembered this incident everytime I feel very scared I came between two buses. This is a moment when Death comes near to me but I won.  Thanks to GOD again.
