Since the commission on Amazon is so low, shouldn't I use that space for adsense?
It's really up to you.
But Adsense allows only a limited number of ad blocks per page. Hubpages may have already incorporated this into the code.
The thing is, if you don't use your Amazon affiliate code, hubpages will not replace the empty ad space if you already reached the limit.
Of course, this is only an assumption on my part.
