I understand that spammers are attacking hubpages. And I know that CAPTCHAS can help separate humans from bots. However, the images of the words are not very readable even for humans. I had to try more than ten times to finally get logged in.

I hope they can make the images more readable for humans.

NOTE: I'm using Firefox. I can read the CAPTCHAS on other sites.

Have you tried the audio feature that goes with Captchas for visually-impaired users?  I find it really useful when certain words are hard to read.  You can also hit the button for a new Captcha word, which often brings up a more intelligible one.

That's what I did. I asked for a new pair of words. I had to do that several times (more than ten times) to finally get a pair of words that I can read.

I had this problem with captcha before.  You must put your name in the YOUR NAME box.  If it's blank, the message will not get sent!

Can you always read one of those words?

If it looks anything like that http://recaptcha.net/learnmore.html you are likely to be able to get away with one correct word and guessing the other one as good as you can. Chances are server doesn't know a correct answer itself smile

Umm, I don't remember any captcha on HP. Am I being blind?

The only one I know of is when you try sending an in-house email message from another hubber's profile page.  That way, neither hubber knows the other's email address.

I had this problem with captcha before.  You must put your name in the YOUR NAME box.  If it's blank, the message will not get sent!

        Hmmm. Maybe you are!

It is also possible that Hubpages is getting a lot of spam from my region.
