Has the idea of a live chat room ever been discussed??
seems like it would be popular
Yes, several times.
The forums were originally a place where Hubbers (people who are here primarily to write Hubs) could socialise occasionally. Recently it seems there are people who join HP mainly to socialise and occasionally to write Hubs. I'm not sure HP would want to encourage that, because they make their money from the Hubbers who write the Hubs, not the chatterboxes!
true, they would probably need several different "rooms"
There are already tons of sites and services that offer live chat. How would it be beneficial to HubPages to "reinvent the wheel?"
just noticed that people start out on one subject, but end up socializing
seems that lots of new friends are made
theres gmail and yahoo..
if you wanna chat with somebody, email them? then go to a chatting place. The forums always end up as chats for a bit anyway. its so super ahrd to stay on topic, I do try tho.
But couldn't people who want to chat just exchange info and do that?
its been brought up a lot, a couple of hubbers have already created public chats the addresses can be found in the threads
personally, I would run far away, the forums already serve as a big distraction, a chat would be terrible.
Do people really still use chat rooms? I figured facebook and twitter were the new chat-
Doin' ok RNW, just havent been on Hp as much as I used too. Was thinking of writing a hub today ,then lost the motivation ( y'know how that goes) lol
Hey how come ya aint using Adsense? Im sure m hubs could so with some backlinking ,so told myself thats what I will do soon.
its boring today
no personal attacks and all
we all anyway use the forums for chatting ... kinda desperate, I know...but I wonder if giving us an open chat room would be such a good idea! we won't ever get anything else done.. besides, the religious might just tear each other to bits!
what do you do? besides freak the office people out with your skull...
I design, and test software.
Today is crazy because systems are crashing, and for some reason people think I shold know how to fix it.
tell them its the full moon....everything has gone mad
I tried that, they don't care. They just want it fixed.
oh, well...people..I have windows ME. If anyone else in the known universe still had it, they wouldnt complain about anything....
your friends should be at home waiting for you when you get out tho.
careful darling...those teeth look a bit precarious...
well guys, have fun. I have got to run to the store now.
I shall return.
On second thoughts, maybe a live chat room wouldn't be such a bad idea. Then we'd get rid of mindless threads like this one...

How about a Chat box where hubbers can enter and chat to each other.

I was reading an interesting Forum thread when I noticed one contributor has been a member for 11 months, has written no hubs, but has contributed to discussion 383 times - and amassed 9 followers. Another has been a...

There are some troubled men who regularly use forums, and they have not a single hub in their profiles. How come? How is it allowed? I do not get it--- Is HubPages a chat-website?

I'm curious about that, and what other hubbers who do write hubs feel about it. I've seen some folks who don't write hubs, but who obviously read in HubPages and comment on hubs, and who participate in the forums with a...

I like forums myself. What about you all?
