Cags, I see I missed your instant challenge again today. Just as well; I wrote one without the push although it took all afternoon. It's been tough the last few days - I've had 4 grandchildren here and my computer is in the living room where everybody wants to play.
..hey all! this looks like it could be a thread...good idea! I've just gotten in from an evening meeting and am tired..checking in for a moment, saying hi, but logging off now...it was a long work day.
~sigh~ Days like today I wish the kids were back in school! LOL My youngest girl is cranky and will NOT take a nap so instead she's picking fights with her older siblings! I now fully understand why my mother had only one child! LOL
Sounds like it's time for a "Water Balloon Fight"!!
(withhold consequences for the day until after playtime)
Be angry (in a playful way) Take them outside (after they've changed into swimsuits) Fill a water balloon and slam in on the ground a decent distance from their feet so they only get a little 'splash' (playful anger turns into laughter and fun!)
Hi! I'm sitting here in the living room with my laptop, as my fella watches the England v Algeria match on the tv - being deafened by the sound of the vuvuzelas blaring out from the tv opposite and the occasional very loud expletives blaring out from my partner, sitting to my left!
The dog nearly fell off the sofa from shock at the first of my partners explosive and 'colourful' outbursts of disgust at someone's failed attempt to kick the ball in the back of he net... Maisie left the room and headed for her bed in the kitchen where it's a bit more peaceful.
As for me, well it's half time so there's a slight respite, but I may well head off to my pc in my office and give my ears a rest...

Hi Spacey Gracey - Beat you to it by quite a few hours, though I haven't been in because my hands are bad, but my dog came and sat on my chest at 4am - so I thought I might as well get up and I've been working since then. Hope you're having a good day.
Has this chatter's thread died on its arse? I'm lonely so I will chat to myself then. Little boy had small op today and is home safe and sound. Tis my wedding anniversary today. Eating chinese take away. And in a spectacular case of 'here's my chickens, they haven't hatched yet' - I should hit 10,000 views tonight. Having glass of wine to celebrate multiple good fortunes.
I didn't notice this thread when it started, but I'll chat now. Had a bad day today. Started a new (temporary part time) job today, and it's the worst thing ever. I'm working in the mail room in the city council building and the 3.5 hours I worked seemed like a full day. It was so dull, and they didnt even really need me there so I was either helping people do a job they could manage themselves or standing around pretending to do something. It doesn't even pay enough to pay the rent but that's how desperate I am ...especially since my hub-writing is not proving profitable.
Sorry about that, had to get it out of my system. Now you can all laugh at my misery!
You could turn your job into a hub about painfully obvious process improvements that can be made - I've worked in loads of places and thought - why do you do it like that - it would be loads easier if you did this - sorry your new job sucks - at least its temporary.
Okay, so, had my presentation today. I was nervous as h@ll!! Never did like presentations in school, or talking in front of the class, or working with others on a group project (cuz I wasn't assertive enough to speak up)
I was in a group of 3. One was a guy from Costa Rica, about my age - he talked a lot and had no trouble taking charge. The other guy was younger, but not a recent high school grad - he has learning disabilities or some other issues and is very quiet (not assertive at all from what I can tell) We had a great presentation, but...
We had difficulty getting it together! We didn't even run a rehearsal, just kinda went with the flow...it turned out okay though. The instructor said the first guy needed to be less in charge, (he did a power point presentation comparing proactive & reactive habits by way of planting a seed to grow a fruit tree, and kinda went on forever -lol- after adding more than originally agreed to) I needed to be more in charge,(I handled the game and a journal assignment afterwards) and the third guy needed to speak up more and read his notes less. (he handled the conclusion)
btw - the game was a hit. It was all about the choices you make that you want to become habits which will determine your lifestyle. Choices aren't always easy - and there were no right or wrong answers. It's all about the choices you make.
The journal assignment - When you're old and gray you may look back on your life and wonder if you were proactive enough to begin with the end in mind and put first things first. Write a page or so describing what you'd like to remember at that point in your life.
A poem I wrote for the presentation:
A tree of priorities A tree of choice Fruits of their labor Which will they be Freedom of choice Or, freedom to be?
Thanks, it was exciting after I got over being so nervous. lol Now my team left it up to me to divide the points from the instructor. We got 141 out of a possible 150 - and they can't be divided equally. .
Oh man....my boys wanted to go bowling (I've never bowled before in my life...) and I think I broke my middle finger...lol...it hurts like an SOB!! ow, ow, ow!! lol...yeah, it's a little swollen too...lol...I probably wont go bowling anymore...
I haven't had any problems with HP today. It must be pretty frustrating when you just want to get something done. I've spent all day thinking about backlinking and now I am loosing the will to live.
Oh whatever happened to my dream of writing up amusing anecdotes about family-life - oh yes, I remember now, I chose money over my idealism! This actually feels like work, like a proper job and everything
I understand that our girl, one of our favorite hubbers was banned yesterday. She was not told why she was banned. Today is her birthday and she cannot post on the forums because of this ban. Does anyone knows why she was banned?
There are a lot of us who haven't been feeling safe on the forums. They've felt stalked, harassed and browbeaten.Sadly, some folks go with the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it in their posts. For an excellent post on why we need Forum Moderators, check out what Makingamark says here...
Why do I say that? Because I'm guessing something happened that motivated HP to include this in the HubPages Weekly:*Start*What Are the HubPages Forums for? Are There Any Rules? The Forums allow the community to complement each individual Hubber’s talents and interests. We hope they provide a living...
Okay this is great! I downloaded it this morning, and it's really working wonderfully. We all know Edweirdo, a very clever and useful hubber who created the HubDefender tool for us all which detects hub-theft and assists in dealing with it. Edweirdo has also written many helpful tutorial hubs on...
For only being here a mere 33 some hours, take a step back, review the learning center, work on your content, ( since you have none). Take some time to view those hubbers who have been here quite awhile, put in a lot of effort, stuck through HP's massive changes to battle the ever-changing...
