Why am I asked to moderate my comments and what does it mean.
Why am I asked to moderate my comments when I reply to comments for my hubs and what does that imply?
It's not necessary, it just means that you have the option to edit your own comments if you want. It's just a slightly strangely worded way of saying that.
Moderating your comment means, taking care of your comment capsule, you have to customize it the way you want, whether you want them or not is all that it is about.
When you moderate, you get to choose which comments appear beneath your Hubs, and which do not appear. Doing this also gives you a chance to become active in communicating with those who take the time to read your Hubs. Just click on "Approve" if you want that person's comment to be visible on your page. Then you can respond to their comment in the commens box below. Hope this helps!
You are basically required to police your hubs to make certain appropriate comments on your hubs. I was really reluctant to moderate in the beginning but that was a mistake as it was not good for my hubs.
Moderate means you get to filter the comments on your hubs, you receive a notice and can read the comments and they can appear only if you approve them. If you find them not appropriate on just don't like them you can deny them.
I think you're asking about your own comments, rather than those of your visitors. You're given this option in case there's any reason you need to hide your own comment on your hub.
This happened to me once. We're not given the option to delete our comments, and I had made a pretty embarrassing mistake on a comment on my own hub. Fortunately, I was able to hide it by clicking the "moderate" button, and I then re-wrote the comment.

Why do some people have Hubs without a place for comments?

My top two hubs have gotten quite a few views but zero comments. Does this mean that I am only getting views from sites other than hubpages or what?

Why would anyone delete a comment on their hub?If I deleted a comment on one of my hubs, I would figure I am not good at dealing with people who might disagree with me. People can agree or disagree, it's a free world. If the comment was mean or nasty, well I'm not the one looking bad,...

Why do so many hubbers delete comments just because they disagree?I see this a lot particularly on hubs espousing things like Noahs flood, or the inerrancy of the bible. I don't delete opposing comments when I write about evolution - why cant these people deal with contradicting opinions. Is it...

When I go to respond to a comment on one of my hubs, I just put my response in the comment section od that particular hub. Later, if I go back to that hub, I can see everyone elses comments they have left, but not my own responses. I am afraid that the people who commented are not seeing my...

Why would any HP writer purposely not allow comments on his/her hubs?I just read two hubs--good ones--by an HP writer I hadn't encountered before, but neither has a Comments section. I wanted to comment on both, and the inability to do so stops me from reading any more of this writer's hubs. Why...
