Promotion in hubs of products and services is acceptable, within limits. I have written a number of such hubs, where I explain about my activities while also encouraging people to respond. The important aspect is that even those who are not interested in ordering such products and services should derive something from reading the hub.
I have not done this to date. I may in the future but it's been 3 years and i've refrained.
I don't advertise directly, but I do include links as it is appropriate to do so naturally for related topics.
