Is your Hub Score driving you crazy or is it just me?
Well, I don't mean that I'm driving you crazy, I just...oh, you know what I mean! I guess my hub score crazifies(note: not a real word) me because it's the first thing my eyes go to every day when I sign in. I wish I could ignore it!
Mine often jumps a lot. Some days it's 89 or even 91 but then it will dip into mid 80's.
What I'm thinking is to get closer to my goal of 1,000 hubs and then do a quarterly "audit" of my hubs to remove low performing ones which may be pulling my score down - sure it's deleting a bit of work but if a hub hasn't got traffic in a year than it's not doing much anymore, ya know?
The Hubs themselves don't get me as much as my personal Hubber score that pops up on my profile. Despite advice in the Learning Center, I do tend to check it often. It doesn't really drive me crazy anymore, now that I've learned a few tricks with it: 1. Make use of "Hub Karma" and put links to other related hubs in the hubs you publish. 2. Be sure to comment and vote on other Hubs. The Hopper is great for this. 3. Learn to use SEO to get hits from search engines. My Hubber score always goes up when my Traffic Sources indicate more hits from Google and/or Yahoo.
Just you. :-) Seriously, it is not an indication of your writing skill - it is more about site participation. Try to ignore it.
I guess I should ask, do you mean score for each hub or your Hub karma score in the corner by your picture? I was thinking of the number on one's profile picture.
Duffsmom, I was talking about the one in the corner of our photos.
If you hubscore or hubber score driving you crazy maybe this will cure,

There is much more important than your hubscore or hubber score.
I agree with you totally. It use to drive me up a wall to see my score go up and down daily. But not as much as my actual hub scores! Soon I realized not to be too concerned with my score. That it would fluctuate all the time. As long as my score didn't drop by 20 or more points. I received great information through Answers and Questions. I received these useful tips!
1) You should read and comment on other hubs;
2) Follow those hubs you have an interest in;
3) Ask lots of questions;
4) Visit your Forums;
5) And hop some Hubs (this really helps out a lot);
6) Link your hubpages to other sites
Always remember to go to the Learning Center to find out as much information as you can. Read, read, read! And post, post, post quality hubs frequently.
Good luck!
EclecticFusion I'm with you. I know all the 'real' answers but it still drives me crazy when it jumps around.
LOL!! Yes I definately know what you mean!!!
I think it drives most of us crazy - mines goes up and down like a yoyo so I just ignore it now. Having said this I have noticed that it's kind of come to standstill and didn't move anywhere which kind of caught my interest. But anyway, as long as folks continue to enjoy most of my hubs, I don't give a hoot about my score!

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much.What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

I took a hiatus for awhile from Hub Pages! However, in the past week or so, I have added new hubs participated in forums, asked a question or two, participated with the Hub Hopper, have read some Hubs, yet my Hubber Score is lower than it was when I was doing nothing. I don't get it!

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

I want to know that what is the maximum score of a hub or hubber? How we can increase it?
by Eric Dockett 5 months ago
Since HP decided to kick our articles back to Discover, for some inexplicable reason, my Hubber score has plummeted. It is still kind of hanging in there on this account because I still have articles on niche sites, but on my other accounts it has dropped into the 60s. Prior to the move, it was in...
