I enjoy reading bits and pieces of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books - I like the historical bits where ships sink, trains disappear, etc. But when the story gets to the present day, I grit my teeth while I read more often than not. The books are so poorly written...and yet this doesn't prevent them...
